That seems a bit arbitrary, especially since his Rockets teams were built around him. Garnett is a star because he can succeed in an environmenet where they don't play "Garnett ball?" What would that mean? Garnett has never been on a team where they didn't play Garnett ball.

I would say Francis' last year, the team was not playing Francis ball (whatever that means, precisely). Yao was new focus point for the team. Francis' numbers definitely took a hit, but he was still an excellent producer. He averaged 16.6 points, 6.2 assists, 5.5 rebounds (and a god-awful 3.7 turnovers, which is pretty close to what Yao did last year, unfortunately). Van Gundy said he thought it was Francis' best year as a pro, despite the decline in his stats. Van Gundy definitely was not running Francis ball. If Francis can approach those numbers this next season, I'll have no problem counting him as a third star.

Hmm...Scola...Yes, hope he would pan out. By the way he's already an international Star, right? Welcome to NBA.
