    @WojYahooNBA (Adrian Wojnarowski)

Fisher: "today was not the day to get this done. Not able to get close enough to close the gap."

Fisher: "we find ourselves where we expected to be: a lockout that may jeopardize a part, or our whole season..."

Fisher: players offered over a billion dollars over 6 years of deal by dropping BRI to 53 percent.

Fisher: "today was not the day to get this done. Not able to get close enough to close the gap."

    alanhahn Alan Hahn
FISHER: "Today was not the day to get this done....anticipate reality that rest of preseason will be canceled soon."

    Chris_Broussard Chris Broussard
I'm told no meetings scheduled rest of week...D Fisher says preseason about to be cancelled& probably start of reg season

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
Fisher" Players offered 53 percent of BRI.

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Fisher: We offered to reduce our share of BRI to 53 percent. We were informed that's not close enough. We can't go further on economics.

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Fisher: Not sure when the next meetings will be held. Not expecting to meet tomorrow or in the near future.

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
    Side note, this is bad

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Fisher: Last formal offer from owners was 47 percent.

    johnhollinger John Hollinger
If owners really only moved from 46 to 47 on BRI this entire exercise was a colossal waste of time.

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
    Hunter: "Fifty-three is our number."

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Hunter: "Fifty three is our position. We were never inclined to come out of 50's and they were never inclined to come up..."

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Hunter: There are no scheduled meetings. Maybe a month, or two months. It's your guess.

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Hunter: "As of this moment, we've broken off the negotiations..." Now it's up to one side to pick up phone and set up another.

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Meeting ended when owners said they would only go from 46 to 47 percent.

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett look disgusted

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
Asked if nearing last resort of decertification, Hunter says, "Clearly that's something we may have to give some thought to."

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
Asked if owners' offer was insulting, Hunter said, "It's business."

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Garnett is literally staring down every reporter who asks a question.

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
Fisher on whether players would accept 50 percent, he says he needs to "ask our players."

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Hunter: Our guys have indicated a willingness to lose games.

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Hunter says owners revenue sharing plan would take three years to fully kick in.

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
Hunter said owners wanted a 50-50 split with $300 million of expenses deducted, which makes it $

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Hunter: Thoughts among some of the owners is that as soon as they miss a check, we'll cave.

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Hunter says he warned the owners to not underestimate the resolve of his players to hang in there without checks.

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Hunter: "the hard cap is off the table..."

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
I wish there was a camera committed to KG. He's like a toddler at the opera.

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
But Fisher added that it is the players who will decide the matter with their vote.

Seems the owner's hardball tactics are working.

The players at least agreed to bring down the BRI from 57% to 53%.

The owners only budged from the 46% initial offer to 47%.

What a massive waste of time. The NBA owners are clearly not negotiating in good faith and the courts would favor the players IF they chose to decertify. It doesn't do anything but complicate a deal, but this its the only choice the players have if they want to actually get anything done in negotiations.

The NBA and its owners deserve to fail. David Stern has outdone himself as the single most hated figure in sports.

Yep, just as I figured, the owners want to break the unions back......this will go until someone breaks, and it may or may not be the players, there are some broke owners out there.

If the Union would have been proactive like the NFL was and decertifyed and went to court, this would probably be over by now, or close to it.

Now they are going about it the long way.

Apparently, the owners said they offered a 50-50 split and the players refused it. Either the owners or the players are lying.

It upsets me that it's coming to this. A 50-50 split seems like it makes sense for all parties involved, particularly since the owners took the hard cap off the table. Think the players are trying too hard to play hardball and measure the size of their **** here. I'm sure prodding at Hunter and the NBAPA by agents and rah-rah articles riling up the players from hacks like Adrian Wojikowski who insert themselves into every story didn't help the situation.

This pisses me off. It's not necessary. If the split is really the only issue here, then a lot of people (not just the players) are going to be out of work because both sides need to prove their junk is bigger than the other and won't take less than the other. Ridiculous.
