At this I must agree with you Durant is more ready to contribute right away. Same like Brandon Roy was the most ready player and won Rookie of the year. But 3-5 years down the road Oden will pan out as the better player and remember big men usually take longer to develop than wings and forwards.

This might mean they go with Durant. Maybe the thinking is that they have size and post players and another dominant wing player to go along with Roy will make them more versatile in the long run. Interesting choice here. I think Oden's defense would make me choose him over Durant, but you couldn't fault either choice. By the way, screw Boston. They have 16 titles. They had 30 years of joy. Here's 30 years of agony like the rest of us.

No Blazers have new twin towers in Oden and Aldridge

Could be a possibility especially if they can't move Randolph and Raef Lafrentz when they have invest 84 million dollars between the two. Raef has only 2 years and easy to swallow but Randolph could be a cap killer especially when time comes to to re-sign Roy, Aldridge and Oden. Even Darius Miles and Joel Pryzybilla
are overpaid with long term contract. This could haunt them if they cannot surround Oden with quality depth before he is ready for a new contract in 4 years.

i think oden is the better fit in portland. i can't see randolph and his bad attitude lasting too much longer there. if they could work out some sort of trade and move him then they would be done with their character issues. i hope for durant's sake they seattle moves to OKC. seattle is a black hole right now...at least OKC would care about their team. the hornets had a rabid home crowd when they were playing there.

Yeah but how do they move Randolph and do they just dump him for nothing?

The rabid home crowd is nice until the game is over and you're stuck in a ugly flat dump like OKC, miles from anywhere or anything of cultural value or of even mild interest.

I'd take Seattle in about half a heartbeat, overcast skies and all. If they told me coming out of Austin that I was moving to OKC I'd have gone back to school for another year.

Or you could pull a Steve Francis and flat out refuse to play for them and force a trade. BTW Vancouver is a beautiful city don't know what SF3 saw there for all the hate talk aside from the fact their franchise sucked and still does. Watch the expression on Jerry West's face when he lost the lottery.

Not to mention the fact that when Seattle was good, their crowd was MORE rabid than whatever the oklahomans (who would cheer at a flea market) are doing.

Seattle should trade Ray Allen and start over with some cap space to get a big man alongside Durant. A SG/SF combo hasn't worked for them before with Allen/Rashard and won't cut in the West. They need inside presence or they'll be stuck in mediocrity again.

Maybe we can trade our negative trade value for their negative trade value? Like Juwan plus Sura for Randolph? ;)

if i were portland i'd take durant first but i guess there's no right choice between the two. the second pick is where you're sitting pretty. you get either durant or oden and no one can second-guess you.

i'm gonna enjoy watching yao work over oden for a couple years and shut a couple haters in this thread up. oden's never seen anyone half as good or as big as yao. lets not get carried away with this he's gonna shut him down noise.

    HOLY

    CRAP

    Portland got #1?

    Oh man lol

I feel somewhat bad since I was really hoping the Celtics would get it (I live in Mass) but...sigh

Guess there's no point going to games again unless it's Houston in town
