Wrong thinking. Hawks should pick Brandan Wright and trade one of their existing players to get a veteran PG.

Oden is a SICK defender who will make an immediate impact. Have you seen him play or do you not venture outside of Texas?

Problem for the Hawks is the best players available at 3 are PF/SF type and they have an abundance of those. They need a PG like Conley J.R. but that would be too high of a pick and no guarantee he will be available to draft again at no 9. They may have to trade down to maybe Boston or Memphis but then again everyone want Oden or Durant, not sure about the guys 3 through 14.

If the Sonics pick Durant they could trade Lewis for a PF. Unfortunately the Rockets have nothing to offer them.

Yeah and keep drafting best available players instead of filling a need. They Already took Sheldon Williams last year at 5 for a power forward so do they keep overstocking the PF and SF positions?

actually durrant just gave seattle a reason to let shard walk. if i were them i'd move allen too. get some young players and cap space to build around him. they will be bad for years to come until they harvest some other talent and mature into the real deal.

the blazers are scary. iexpect them to move randolph. they have plenty of bigs. oden, la, outlaw, roy, jack with przybilla, webster and rodriguez as key reserves. they are following the chicago bulls plan of filling the roster with young promissing players., however, i'd rather have oden and roy than deng and gordon. they will be tough in about 3 years.

Too high? if you get the guy you want, you get the guy you want - if they can't get him at 9 then they should draft him where they can get him- at 3. If he becomes a good player then there's no extra credit for dratring him a few spots later, save for a minmal amount of cap savings on his rookie deal.

I have no love for any of the other teams, but you almost had to feel bad for Jerry West and Heinsohn and Milwaukee. Geez, but that's a fall from grace.

And Portland? Great. Yet another team in the West that will kick the Rockets around.

Seattle won't have to worry if they lose Rashard. Hell, they can LET him walk, if they draft Durant.

hawks could draft horford and play him at center. outside of zaza they have no one worthwhile there.

Jerry West retired a month ago so I don't feel sorry for him (or Michael Heisley).

portland's have a first round draft pick (30th) joel freeland from last year still overseas. they were reports they were thinking of bringing him in this upcoming season.

he's be a good gamble, rockets should see into that.

also if the blazers plan to re-sign udoka and outlaw. they'll have three excess 2nd rounder, since their roster will be at 15.

Conley is a heavily sought player especially by teams 5to 8 where he is most likely projected to go. He might be the only PG in the top 10 and many teams need one like Boston, Memphis and Milwaukee. I don't he goes top 3 because Brandon Wright and Al Halford are much better players but then again maybe Hawks for once go with need instead of best player available.

yes oden is an excellent defender and he has great touch around the basket. that being said durant is a top notch defender. he also is a great rebounder (remember he did average more rebs than oden), great shooter, solid passer, and solid ball handler. his post game isn't developed but he looks like he can develop it as his body develops. he still looks like he could add 25-30 lbs and not have his athleticism effected.

oden is not dominant in the low post or in any aspect of scoring. he will develop that game but durant's offensive game is more developed even though he still looks awkward with his ball handling sometimes. I just see durant as having more upside and as being more NBA ready.

we will agree to disagree. just stating my opinion that's all. so how do you project oden? as the next tim duncan? can you tell me why you think he is without question better than durant?
