That has to be one of the most stupid things I have ever seen. I mean, it is a FREAKING GAME! What is up with lowlifes calling people morons for playing games?

It's a game! If you don't like it,....ok. GOod for you. Why post about how crappy it is and how much the new Espn whatever game is. It isn't even out. Let LIVE fans enjoy their games. What is the point of all this BS?!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Moochie Norris cameo intro yet.

    I own Live 94 for the Super Nintendo, Live 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 2000 for the PC. Live 2002 for PS2. Live 2003 for XBOX.
I also own 2k, 2k1, for Dreamcast. And 2k3 for XBOX

It's just a game I know. Both are fun. Live used to be the only thing out there.

But the 2K series is so much better in quality. Live is crappy not because of there's so much cheap crap that happens.

Those who buy Live grew up on Live, like me, or can afford both, like me, or it's because they are a victim of the NBA Live advertising machine. I think most people are in the third category.

I like Live and will play it...but 2K is just better in gameplay quality.

After going through this whole thread I've think I can summerize the the whole aregument with this statement.

There are two types of people in the world, those who speak binary and those that don't.

The former buys 2K series, the latter buys live.

Go to EA Sports' website, and click on Cameos, they had players saying "EA Sports, Its in the game"which is suppose to appear in the game during load times or something. They had various people do it from Earl Boykins to Bo Outlaw to name a few.

Hmm..well I'm glad that we have a bunch of 2kseries supporters!

I'll just wait until ESPN NBA Basketball 2k4 comes out..and wait for your opinions. :)

And on November 4, I'll buy Dead or ALive 3, Madden, Midnight Club 2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Freedom Fighters, and either NBA Live or ESPN NBA...AND GRAND THEFT AUTO!!!! Yay! Finally comes out for XBox! and also Murphy's Law...R. Kelly's R & B Collection...and Outkast.

That's about 425 bucks right there...wonder where I can get it cheaper.

Dude, terrible, pathtic P.O.S. NFL gameday outsold nfl2k3 last year, that doesn't make it a better game.

EA sports is the biggest software publisher aroudn after ms, they spend lots more money on marketing; is there any male aged 18-35 who hasn't heard "It's in the game" evey single day for the last 10 years?

Sega, which makes the 2k series, is by contrast renowned for being awful at marketing; for making good games that don't sell. That doesn't mean that the game sucks, it just means that their marketing folks have their heads up theire asses and have to compete with mammoth EA.

It's a VIDEO game...if you want realism go play basketball outside. Idiots like you probably can't ball so u need a game that simulates it for u. Seriously, why do you have to insist a game is crap when you don't like it? people like you are narrowminded.

    Don't you realize

    EA Live2004 is a VOLLEYBALL GAME !!!!!

Yao and Griffin got 50 blocks combined in one game....that's what the "Improved Defense System" crap EA was talking about?

You know there are sliders to adjust it if u think its too much. I've played alot of games already on allstar and superstar, I haven't seen the big number of blocks you are witnessing. Are u sure u not playing on rookie/arcade mode? just checking.

When i bought my copy of Matrix Reloaded today at Best Buy at the Galleria area, they had the 2 huge projection TVs hooked up with an XBox and PS2 version of NBA Live 2004. Played it on the defaults, and all I can say, its still the same to me. I own the 2002 version, and feel its still the same. They only difference is the drop step and dunk button, thats it. The animation looked the same, gameplay was definitely the same, but then again, I just played it on the default settings. But from what I have played, Im still not impressed at what they did. Don't get me wrong, its still a good game, but I'll probably play it for 2 weeks and get tired of it. I am going to go with ESPN this year once again.

I played at starter and all-star level, 12-min/quarter. I think the default setting is supposed to be the best, the most realistic or the most intereting as the developer feels, so didn't change it.

I don't think EA upgraded the defensive AI much. They probably simply changed the recovering speed of the defender, chances for blocking shots, steals....etc. The speed that the defender moves from double-team at post to the perimeter shooter is ridiculous...The players rating is biased.

BTW, about this "new" dunk only button, hasn't EA used it before? I remember using it on one of the old Lives for the PC. I can't remembe which one. I think it was '01. But anyways, I used a gamepad, and, IIRC, you could hold one button and press shoot and the player would try to dunk if they were close enough. I think there was other combos for layups and alley-oops too.

Seems like the same thing to me.

I think you're thinking about Turbo. When used with the shoot button it would cause a dunk if possible. This is a little bit different, though.
