As far as soccer game. Ive been playing soccer games also for years. The last 3 games that EA has made, have not been too good. FIFA WORLD CUP, was put out by EA, that was actually really good. I enjoyed playing that for hours. Once again, if you want a real simulated gameplay with all real soccer stratagies, you need to pick up Winning Eleven 6 by Konami. Ive been playing that for 6 months now, and have not stopped. Its so detailed and GAMEPLAY is amazing. The reviews that ive read for EASOCCER04 seem to be really good and have gotten the top people to make this game as real as it gets. Im definatly picking up the new EA soccer when it come out. but if you want something now. I would definately go for Winning Eleven 6.
I went to Game Stop (or whatever it is called) at lunch to buy Live. Luckily they had it on the TV there and I played about 30 mins worth. Glad I saved myself 50 bucks. I thought the graphics were poor and the animation between backing in and shooting is non-existent. One second you are backing in and a split second later the player is turned around shooting no animation in between. I'll rent it again but I don't have high hopes now.
Love Soccer. FIFA 98 was the best, where we could actually pick stadiums, such as beautiful Wimbley. I am still hoping the Mexican league makes it into the FIFA Franchise... Mexican leagues don't want to pay the royalties, though... or is it the other way around. I know World Tour Soccer has them, and most of the rest of the Soccer Stars, but I think the teams are outdated. It's still a good game. How did this turn into a Soccer thread, anyway?
I totally agree, dude. Somehow something was lost when they ported it to the PS2. You just felt so in control of the players in the DC version...I don't know how to explain it. I was so damn good at that game. I'd kill to be be able to play against people online now that a ton of folks have broadband.
Man if the mexican league ever made to EAFIFA that would just make the game 100 much better. I wonder if this will ever happen.
I must say that only the NHL games have good graphics for the fans. It's a shame they have all been the same since 1995. One game on Dreamcast had an awesome feature where you could get the crowd on their feet...and they looked real. Now can someone tell me why the sidelines of the NCAA games have only like 5 players on each? It's kind of obvious when they go to so much effort including cheerleaders and mascots. (I think I'm asking a bit too mcuh. Maybe I'll get a job at EA. Anyone know of any connections???)
I am thinking of getting this game but i wanna hear what u guys have to say about it. I am not picky about graphics and stuff, i just wanna know if it would be worth getting, i liked 03 but i thought the dast breaks were ridiculous, is that toned down in this years? thats the main thing i had a problem with in 03
Detail for me isn't that important, since I usually cahnge the camera view so that it is really zoomed out. I hate the camera views set as default in both the 2k series and LIVE. I need to be able to see the whole floor to see who is open. i am thinking of picking up Live, not entirely sure yet.
For your team? Yes. Fastbreaks are hard to pull of, especially compared to last year's. For the other team? They get a few cheap buckets throughout the game, especially if they have a fast SG.
Ya i actually just went and got it, played it for an hour or so, game is a lot better than last years imo. Not as many fast breaks the "pro hop" is cool imo. Not sure if it was worth the $50, i havent played dynasty yet, guess there is some kind of glitch and if u skip the free agency part and u go back to it the teams dont resign there all stars back? Will there be some type of patch u can d-load if you have the adapter thing to fix this problem you think?
What is with people saying "how can you compare Live04 to ESPN? ESPN hasn't even come out yet!"? Come on folks, this is ridiculous.. Live has taken a back seat to the 2K/Sega series ever since it's creation.. and until proven otherwise, it always will. ESPN>Live To anyone stubborn/stupid enough to buy Live, don't say you weren't warned.
I dont get that, how can you say espn is going to be better than live? yea maybe it hasnt been as good as the 2k series but you are trying to say since 2k is better that espn is going to be better than live. Imo i dont think it will be, i dont like the view thing like in the football game they have
Are you talking about the first person thing? I don't think they have that in ESPN basketball since I haven't seen it anywhere for the basketball game. I guess many may think that last year's version of the 2k series may be better than Live 04, so they automatically say ESPN will be better since it really doesn't have to do much. I won't make you pick the game, but I think it is much better than the Live series, or least both series up until last year. I haven't had much time yet to rent the new one and I still have to wait for ESPN. However, that is just my opinion. BTW, I'm still curious about the franchise/dynasty of Live 04. I've yet to hear that much about it. I think I may look up some stuff on it tonight, though.
ESPN is supposed to have first person in basketball. I might wait until next year for Live, because that's when they will have classic teams.
Where did you hear/read this? I haven't been keeping up with the games lately and I haven't read this. All that I've read is about the new IsoMotion, 24/7, no 1 foot jumpers, lead passes, manual alley-oops, but I haven't seen first person anywhere. I would have figured I would have read it or seen pics of it since this was the first basketball game with it, much like they did with ESPN NFL football. I'd like to see some clips/screens of it. I never got to play the ESPN football game and I think the first person thing could be interesting, though I probably won't use it if they have it.
Live has outsold 2K every year since 2K's creation, so obviously more people like Live. Just because you want a perfect simulation doesn't mean everyone who doesn't is stupid or stubborn. It's all about preference, and more people obviously want a GAME that's more focused on FUN than realism. Games are supposed to be fun, and Live is just that: fun! What's the point in even playing a game if you're gonna take it that seriously?
