Mutumbo is not in the team because the trade doesn't make it in time to appear in this game. Gotta try ESPN 2k5 tommorrow and see which one is better.
Don't think there is one, there is so far, as far as I know, 4 difficulty level. And there is some slider to make other aspect of game easier, such as FT, etc, but not general difficulty of the game.
my favorite videogame time of the year! i bought both games today as i always do. espn graphic wise is far far far superior, nba live looks like they stopped updating graphics 3 years ago, but the player heads if anything do look better. as far as gameplay goes ESPN bascially went to crap last year with whatever they were trying to do and unfortunately didn't really improve that much this year. ISOMOTION STILL SUCKS AND WTF DID THEY DO WITH MY DEFENSIVE FACE-UP BUTTON AGAIN! ARGH! i really thought with the previews i read and the videos i saw that they were about to unleash the greatest basketball game of all time but damn it is definitely not. god i wish they could make a game as well as they did with 2k2! imo nba live made the better game last year and improved again this year. the players still have skates and the post up game isn't as good as espn but it's so much more fun. and by fun i don't mean arcadey. i bought live at 12 o'clock, played it till 2 or so, went to pick up espn at 3 when it came out and played it for an hour before i went back to live. i'm dissapointed in espn because i had high hopes for it but maybe some will still like it. as for live, i've expected bad games from them for about the last 5 years and have been surprised twice in a row now. maybe they are back at the front of the pack. honestly i really think both games were rushed out the door to beat each other and both could have had some more polish but atleast live is fun. me and my buddy spent the last 2 hours whooping up on the dunk contest. it's really hard to get the hang of it but it's better than the actual game once you get it down. definitely look at the tutorial before doing it.
Well with live, before you start your dynasty, you should be able to go into rosters and make that trade. Thats what I'm going to do before I start my dynasty. Make all the rosters changes that are not in the game, and then save it.
I played Live 2005 last night and I am impressed. I have been playing Live since 2003 and this is the best by far. Playing on offense is a lot harder than previous years. The defensive blocks look better than last year and this year when someone is going up for a shot you can strip the ball a la karl malone. Overall the small details they have added make the game the game play more realistic. Has anyone mastered creating slam dunks in the All Star game? We tried for an hour and couldn't get it. Maybe its just us.
Do the Slam Dunk School. It helps. A lot. I still can't get the alley-oops down, but I actually had a few dunks that got 47-49 scores and one that got a 50.
is it easy to block a shot? in most basketbal games it is way to easy to block a shot, i do not like it if my center has 9 blocks per game. I have had that with almost every basketbal game i played.
Last year ESPN was really bad at that....this year i have noticed it's harder to block a shot. I have to guy buy Live as well
Go to roster management; release eric piatkowski and adrian griffin from rockets release dikembe mutumbo from the bulls sign dikembe mutumbo on the rockets sign eric piatkowski and adrian griffin on bulls release mark jackson sign scott padgett sign ryan bowen (zimmerman is not in the game) voila... correct 2004-2005 rockets roster. save rosters onto your memory card
GRIFFIN! That's who I forgot you guys traded. Your roster and the Nugs are the only two accurate ones I have right now. I hope that Geek Rosters has the update up soon. I really wish I could get my damn network adapter to work.
So...traded in three old games I had, got 35 bucks credit thanks to the extra deal they had, allowing me to pick up both LIVE and 2K5 for under 20 bucks. When I get the chance I'll test both and see what I like....then trade in the one I don't....
Since no one seems to mentioning this issue at all (are you all X-Box users?), I'm going to copy and paste my post from the Dish a couple days ago here: If you have a PS2 or Gamecube, do NOT get NBA Live. The framerate is simply HORRIBLE on those two systems. The look is reminiscent of b-ball games on N64 or PSone. Only on XBox does the game operate as it should. I have a GC myself, and have been a loyal Live buyer for years, but I must say, this year I'm very dissappointed and pissed. I'm probably going to return the game tomorrow. If you dont want to take my word for it, just take a look at some of the comments in this NBA Live forum: http://boards.ign.com//board.asp?brd=6701&ui=cb_board Specifically the threads titled, "LIVE 05's graphics worse than last yrs???!!!! " and "I am getting game tomorrow.....I heard the ps2 graphics are bad...is this true?"
I am liking what I am seeing with Live, but I know that I have to tweak the game with the sliders to make it better. Probably the same deal with NBA2k5. I had a great game against Orlando last night that went into overtime. I made way too many turnovers and ended up losing by 5. One thing I am noticing about Live is they still haven't fixed the fact that you can be making a move in the low block and still end up shooting the ball at the BACK of the backboard. Also, Yao does crazy layups instead of just throwing it down when near the basket. Maybe sliders will fix that as well.
