2K demo is pretty cool. I really really like the little things. Looks amazing. But the way your teammates move, the way the CPU moves, the way the CPU will jump into you if you jump early for the block, etc... I am not ready to put down NCAA/Madden, but its gonna be hard to hold off going all out on 2K.
Yeah, as far as the demos go, 2K9 > Live. The graphics are a bit smoother in Live but that doesn't necessarily make them better. 2K9 models looks great and the crowd is the best ever in a video game. 2K9 team play is so fluid and the animations look like the real thing. Live feels to bogged down and sometimes jittery. The biggest difference to me was that Live seems to be more focused on individual play and 2K9 on team which is basically summing up what an earlier poster said, "2K = Sim, Live = Arcade." But yeah, as far as the demos go, 2K9 blows Live out of the water.
I will definitely be picking up 2K9 up this year, Live keeps chipping away at the gap but they are still behind 2k imo. 2k9 even has Chuck Hayes ugly freethrow in the game!
Man, that's not realistic. Where are all the lane violations? Where are the players on the bench laughing their asses off?
No that is not the case. The truth us if you buy Live, it comes with a coupon with a code. You type that in to unlock the DNA/365 stuff. Taht registers your machine into the EASports server. If you buy the game used, obviously there will not be a coupon for you to use, so you have to pay 20 bucks for it. It is a response to the killing Gamestop is making off of used games and the publishers not getting a penny of it. From what I have read other companies are coming out with similiar measures to get some money off of the used games sales.
played the 2k9 demo and live demos and the 2k9 demo was better though unfinished (i dont think i could sub and no pbp) ray allen face on 2k looked a bit too round imo but everyone else was pretty spot on. what i found cool in 2k was player interactions...if i made an "and 1" a teammate nearby would high five me and then players helping each other get up after being knocked to the ground. pretty solid stuff
Of course they have to show it against the Nuggets because AI and their crew were laughing their asses off last season
Just finished Live 09 for about 30 minutes (Rockets vs Grizzles), no Artest on the roster?!?! Are you kidding me?) I have to say though, it is not bad! It has a ways to catch up to 2k, some of the herky jerky animations are still there but for the most part it plays like a basketball game. Play calling is fun because its simple and there are quite a few of them. I just can't get used to pressing a button to shoot anymore though, but I may have to because it is pretty decent for a change of pace. If you end up playing it, you will be suprised.
I just pre-prdered 2K and should get it on the 7th. I guess I'll download the demo today. Did this screenshot come from your TV? How do you get something from the TV to your CPU?
This guy on operation sports did the cap i think. I saw it there first. That is also where I saw this video http://www.operationsports.com/ostv.php?id=188&no=20&outof=21 THAT is what gets me excited about the game. The highlight reels are nice, but seeing actual basketball plays where the AI is trying to emulate an NBA team, doing things that a real team would do.....man its great.
Is NBA Live 09 worth $20? One of my classmates told me that her boyfriend works at EA and can get it for $20. But from what I am hearing, lol, it might not even be worth that.
OMG The video in that link is unbelievable. This game is going to be 99.8% realastic. I couldn't believe my eye. Adaptive AI is FINALLY realized.
Do you have it? Is there anywhere near the sugarland area i may be able to pick it up at? thank you for your coming reply
