Agreed with the OP - NBA 2K8 over Live 08 every day of the week. Played them both and 2K8 blows it away yet again. Admittedly I got beaten pretty damn good on Live 08, but it was the way in which I got beat that sucked the most. Tim Duncan had 22 first quarter points nearly all on contested jump shots, whilst Parker had 8 assists. Didn't make for a very fun game. I can handle the whole losing thing, but it was just the way in which I lost that made it cr@p. 2K8 just played much better and a lot more realistic than Live 08.
