Well Pek is restricted so we'll see if Minny matches.

He doesn't know anything. Of course Smith will come here, he expressed interest even before we got Dwight.

The question is whether Morey actually wants him or even has the ability to trade for him.

Wow, now is the time to strike for Pek. Can Minny even match after giving all that money to Martin and Bud? If Ferry can pull this off, it would make for a great offseason for ATL.

Yes, which means he's going back to Minny unless the Hawks offer something really crazy. Even then, the T-Wolves have a lot of cap space to match.

This actually makes me feel better about our chances. Them going after Pek shows that they are still interested in getting a center. I was afraid that they were just going to roll with Milsap and Horford at the 4 and 5, meaning they would have had no reason to S&T Smith to the Rockets. I think the T-wolves will match most any offer, so there is still a reasonably good chance that they will go after Asik as a plan B.

This sucks, Hawks boards I've trolled would love an Asik or Lin/Asik trade for Smith. Even with Millsap. Morey get this done it makes too much sense!

Maybe Horford is available? I'd give them Asik, their choice of Jones/Motiejunas, and multiple 1sts.

If Rockets can get Jarret Jack from Golden State and add to the roster...it'll be great. He can play the SG position like he's done at Golden States. He's the type that can drive and shoot...FIT PERFECTLY w/ the Rockets.

Hawks not wanting or worried about Smith speaks volumes.

They offered him a max extension, he turned it down.

Ryan Anderson, you are the missing piece to this puzzle.

If you come, you will be Dwight Howard's new Rashard Lewis.

Let him go Pelicans, you need Asik like we need Ryan.

    Win/Win for both parties.

That is not a "Max" Extension. Most Hawks fans want him gone, too many dumb shots.

I'm thinking Daryl must be trying to get LMA, or otherwise he would've struck the deal for Smoove IMHO.

I think the rockets should make a strong pitch for Corey brewer, he could be a great back up for harden and is a over the top scorer.

We have a gaping hole at PF right now. We need to address this before we consider our benches depth

LMA is too expensive, smoove is probably more likely, though I don't like his fit with our Rockets

Josh Smith could do a good Shawn Marion in phx impersonation if our center was an in his prime A'mare stoudemire. It's too bad Dwight can't shoot

I don't think he turned it down solely for the money. He's been a Hawk his whole career. The fan base and front office there hasnt really been that good during his tenure. Granted, Danny Ferry so far has done a great job but maybe J-Smoove just doesnt want to be in Atlanta anymore. After all, he met with us having a good understanding of our priorites (Dwight) and our limitations (cap-space) and didn't let that dampen his enthusiasm for us.
