NBA LP is obviously not going to tell us if multiple users can log on at the sametime using the same account but this is important information for us. I'm afraid that they would not release this technology without having safeguards but we never know.

Why the heck can't they open the online access to non-league pass subscribers? Like MLB.TV?

I am willing to pay to view it online but I hate to upgrade my cable service to digital cable!

I agree we may have to wait until the games actually start before we try this little rip-off, something tells me that it will based off the subscribers single IP address, as MLB.com does it, and this conversation will be for naught...oh well

I dont think so though. I've gone on mlb.tv through multiple IPs before. I would have internet explorer run through a proxy so I could access astros games that were blacked out and then I would have mozilla go through my normal IP address to access another game at the same time and it worked fine.

Same here. I think digital cable is a big rip off. Standard cable is still expensive.

I am still considering a sling box too, but I am not really wanting to share my league pass stuff as I travel a lot...but all that would be moot if I get the sling box...then I would be happy to share my info and connection.

Oh OK, well how did you run IE through a proxy? Was it public? What programs do you recommend to do that?

IE has a built in proxy option. You go to tools-->internet options-->connections-->LAN Settings and type in a proxy and the port number that goes with it.

You can get a proxy from www.publicproxyservers.com Make sure you choose an anonymous proxy. Now remember that most of those probably won't work or will go too slow. However, something I have noticed is that it only checks your IP when you initially start the video. Once it starts buffering you can go turn the proxy off again.

I know it's not a "standalone" product but I'm curious whether you can order LP without digital cable. Basically pay $159, get on the list for broadband access, and not accept the converter box.

    Wow, OK, 4 questions:

    1. Should I check or uncheck the box that says: "Bypass proxy server for local addresses"

    2. What does the above mean?

    3. Does Firefox have this built-in proxy option as well?

    4. Why not just use an IP masking program for this purpose? Do they make these programs just for convenience of use (automatic vs. manual IP changes)?

Can ya get NBA league pass with Time Warner? I don't have a box (just run the cable from the wall into my TV/VCR).

As I have stated numerous times living in Australia has made it impossible to access good nba coverage. I would be willing to pay most of the subscription if not more for anyone who is willing. The money would be paid up front so there would be no problems on this side. I don't mind if it is NBA league pass broadband or through a slingbox.

Can anybody provide some comparison on the quality of NBA broadband vs Slingbox.
I bought a Slinbox and I am very disapointed with the quality of video. I am hoping NBA broadband quality is better.
