he is really disappointed he's not going to be part of the journey of Sac getting back in the playoffs and the turnaround they are currently displaying. But the chance to win a championship again should bring back a familiar challenge hes been a part of and talked about being the reason he wanted to play in the league in the first place

His bball iq at 28 is dramatically different than what it was coming into the league.

Seems like a great guy, but I think he's really overrated on this board. To me he just looks like a frenetic defender and a poor 3 point shooter, like a smaller Corey Brewer. 6'5 with only a 6'7 wingspan, that seems really undersized to play the 3. Really hope I'm wrong about this but I don't see him making a huge difference for us.

you will be. not really worried about that

no idea where overrated came from. A ton of board talk yesterday was about how shumpert sucks. you didn't say that in your post but sounds like you're along the same lines

High IQ guys will always be valuable contributors playing next to harden/cp3

I wouldn't say he sucks, I think he's basically a sidegrade to Ennis. I don't think he'll change anything. I didn't go through a lot of the threads yesterday, so maybe you're right about that being the majority opinion, but I feel like I've seen a lot of people who think this will be a big defensive improvement to our starting lineup.

he is significantly better than ennis. Ennis wouldn't even come close to being able to display the amount of bball iq in that interview. Your comparison earlier of him being like brewer couldn't be further off. Ennis is a lot closer to brewer in reality

don't get caught in the sky is falling train with all these others. @DreamShook and I are taking notes when the rockets get rolling ;)

30 minutes in to the interview and Ima Iman fan. Can't wait to see him get comfortable here.

I hope he retires a Rocket.

Not exactly, part of that was the cost of dumping two scrubs (finished paying off the Ryan Anderson mistake) and opening multiple roster spots. Because we haven't yet filled those spots, the "end of it" hasn't even arrived yet. Hopefully we can make use of one.

Ha, no need to take notes, I'm fine admitting when I'm wrong, which is often! There's no ego behind my opinions here -- I watch a whole lot of basketball but I don't know the sport all that well, nor do I pretend to.

all good. nothing wrong with being skeptical. that's much better than the others who just flat out believe he sucks without any actual context

Same. Didn't expect to. But he is engaging. I think he will fit right in with CP/Harden/Tucker. Lot of BB IQ there.

He’s an upgrade to what we had.

We’ll see how it works out.

Great interview, well spoken and thought-provoking. He's able to share his real feelings while still staying "cool". Normally, you don't see that from a professional athlete (looking at you CP3). He makes me want to personally cheer for his success, which I will, of course, for his and the Rockets' success. Whether you like this trade or not, let's all hope for the best. Similar to Faried, he may see this move as not only an opportunity to play, but also play for a contender, which may motivate him to be his best in each game and each play.

You're forgetting that it all started from Ryan Anderson playing like sh** on that massive contract.

One way or another it was going to cost us to get that money off the books. So really Anderson hurt us so much that we had to give up so much to get rid of the residual effects from that crappy contract.

I'm hoping he can be the Ariza replacement the Rockets have been looking for. He won't put up big numbers but his defensive numbers on star players are pretty impressive, and by all accounts he was a massive part of getting the Kings' locker room in order. Chemistry guys are important.
