Scola has plenty or he wont have been running on the basketball court for 20 years, non-stop.

What are Dwight and Melo doing on that list? How can Dwight be on both the 'doing most with the least' and 'most athletic' lists at the same time? He must be both ridiculously athletic, and Jason Kapono fused together.

Also, Aaron got a mention on the 'fastest with the ball' list as well.

Scratching my head with the* bolded* names. Most of these players are physically gifted; and are full of talent.

I just don't see how those players are limited physical ability and/or even basketball talent/skill.

GMs probably got as much of a description of what was meant by the question as we did. The guy who said Howard may have interpreted the question differently. Or he was trying to be funny.

As a team, last season the rockets were 'do the most with the least' team. They might choose Scola & Battier to represent the rockets.

Dwight Howard received votes for "Does the most with the least." Was someone being sarcastic?

Because NBA contracts are usually backloaded, a player's production wont usually reflect their contract towards the end of it. Same with rookies, but opposite. AB is making beans for his production.

I think Shane has a little bit left in the tank. Especially with a better team around him. Last year we needed him to be a different player if we were trying to make the playoffs. He can go back to just focusing on D, shooting the corner 3, and doing the little hustle things. Might not be worth what he is making to the average fan, but he has value to this team. We will see if he is here beyond Feb...

An interesting poll would be who does the least with the most in the NBA.

I'd say Joe Alexander. Superstar athleticism, but can't do a thing on the court.

Actually I'd say Brook Lopez should be at the top, even more so than Battier or Scola. The guy was so athletically challenged there were doubts he will even make it into the league, and in fact a lot of analysts were predicting his brother would be a much better player than him once they got into the pros.

However, look at him now. He was able to compensate for his lack of athleticism with smarts and skills, so much so that some people actually think he's a franchise cornerstone. He's basically reached a level Scola and Battier haven't been able to reach, and all in just a few years.

I'm assuming it's based on measurables and/or potential. For example, Robert Horry had the potential to be a one of the most gifted 2-way players in the game. And he ended up being a 3-pt specialist on offense.

A simple way of putting it is asking whether the player can possibly perform any better. And the answer to guys like Scola, Nash, and Battier is a resounding no. That they've performed at what they're capable of optimally.

I guess one thing that usually people don't take into account of in these things is mindset. For example, why is it that Wafer is a knucklehead who won't play team ball? Is his mindset/IQ so low that he's incapable of playing better? Or is it simply a matter of not caring enough? You can't measure those things. But you can measure speed, agility, jump, strength, etc. Things that make many NBA players "athletes", but not great basketball players. See Swift, Stromile.
