http://s1.cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.asp?board=34977&topic=7592785 That's where I heard about the glitch, plus I have the magazine review that says the same thing. Hopefully it's just happens on 1 out of 10 blocks and not every block. B
Live all the way. It is a bit too fast and has an arcade touch, but 2k3 is simply boring and becomes no challenge after a few games. Plus, the online aspect of Live is alot better, IMO. NBA Street 2 is an arcade streetball game, so if you are looking for an NBA game, not a streetball game, you might want to go in a different direction.
I like 2k3 cause its more realistic and the Franchise mode is deeper. HOWEVER, the single most annoying thing about 2K3 is when you play online, you have to deal with *ukers that pause the game....
Yes, I've heard that NBA Live is more realistic (graphics of players). But the game play (fun and controls) for NBA 2K3 is better. It all depends on what you like, I guess.
It think Live wins the "fun in controls" with their new freestyle controle thing. But, from what I hear, if your into sims and want a realistic game, then get the 2k series. I didnt like it when I rented it so I tried Live by renting, and liked it more. Bought Live, I like the game a lot. my above posts will say what I dont like about it.
Well, it was only what I heard. I might have gotten them mixed up. I do own NBA 2K2, but never played NBA Live. I'm going to wait for NBA 2K4.
clarification on nba street 2 "glitch": i have the demo for ps2 (great game) and SOMETIMES it resets the shot clock when you block a shot, but not all the times. it's pretty gay. but i don't notice it that much so don't make it the deciding factor when picking up the game or not.
Is it possible it got fixed by the release version? Would you say it happens less than 25% of the time? I could tolerate it and just pretend the refs are incompetent like the ones from the Lakers/Wolves game last night. B
Well I'm picking up my copy of NBA Street Vol 2 after work today. I'll try to give a short review on Monday if I get a chance. Just to let you know I really like the NBA 2K series, and I've never been much of a fan of the NBA Jam series. I did like the first NBA Street, but I never purchased it because I wanted to own a sim type game. Now that the season is over I'm looking to play just for fun and not worry about stats as much. B
I thought Street 2 came out next week? I reserved one and it's not coming in until Tuesday or Wednesday.
Cool, I'm gonna see if they got it at our Gamespot! Thanks! oh yeah, here's a pic from Street 2 of Yao and Steve!
Okay, I was not able to pick up my copy yesterday since the guy I talked to on the phone messed up. They have it in stock, but they can't sell it until the 29th. However, I did get to play the demo of the XBox version for about 10 minutes. I played as the Rockets and controlled Yao Ming. One one possession alone I blocked 6 shots, and yes, the shot clock bug is in effect. The reason this is so annoying is that they still end up scoring. I blocked 6 in a row, and they make the 7th, when it should have been a shot clock violation after the 4th or 5th shot. I didn't play long enough to isolate the bug, and it may have only happened 2 out of the 23 blocks I had in the game. There were no shot clock violations for the other team, only when the gamestop guy controling Steve spent too much time doing dribble tricks. Overall I'd say even with the bug it is a fun game, but now I will only buy it if I can find it on sale around 44.99 or less. B
Toys'R'Us is selling it by Baybrook and Woodlands. My brother is going to go pick his up right now. Woo hoo! Its ass whoopin time tonite!
My guess is the bug will be fixed for the actual game. I've played plenty of games before where there's problems in the demo but not in the final copy, so I wouldn't worry much about that. And I can't wait to play with Yao and Steve in the game! From the sound of it, Yao plays a lot like Takashi did in Street 1, and nobody could get shots up over that guy! Plus of course Francis us good at a Streetball game!
