Whoa, ABC has BOTH Hubie and Doug Collins on this OKC-LAL game? Guess they need some extra anecdotes to fill in the time while LAL is getting blown out.
The Heat win was legit. The quality of play on the floor was proof. Beating the Pacers was no big deal at all. Caught them at a good time.
Also when we beat Miami, they were in the midst of an 8 game winning streak and were playing good ball. I'd like to think we exposed them for SAS and Chi. Indiana should have beaten GS, but did get blown out by CHA and haven't been playing great overall lately. Miami win was as legit as they come though They had even rested Wade the game before to play against us. They came in looking to make a statement.
He still gets phantom calls for some reason. Probably because he misses wide open shots and missed shots create whistles to blow. He went to the line 12 times.
Best thing for him after this season is to opt in especially because of his knees; no one is going to pay max money for this guy other than Miami
I don't think it's a coincidence that in the Pacers' 3 game losing streak, all 3 teams they played against are very good defensive teams. Warriors and Bobcats are both top defensive teams, and Houston's defense has been terrific since the 2nd half of the season and in their last 16 games. Pacers have very good defense, but their offense will hold them back in my opinion. However, since they play in the East, they really have no challenge other than the Heat.
The difference between today and Clippers/Lakers is OKC will lose concentration, ease up and probably win by less than 20.
OKC with 42 points after 14 minutes. This Lakers defense is turrible, just turrible. How often did it happen that opponents scored 125+ points in consecutive games? They are on the hunt for a record.
The one bonus of continuing to have the Lakers on almost every national TV game (with nearly all of them resulting in blowouts)?... the NBA will do something to be able to allow for "flex" scheduling in the future.
There are 3 guys in the NBA that I think guard Lebron well. Jimmy Butler, Kawai Leonard, and Paul George. They can't shut him down, but they make him work and they all have solid help defense behind them. No coincidence that he hasn't played great in the past two games since he faced 2 of those 3 guys. Edit: Oops, meant to put this in the Lebron thread.
