the fall out from this should be a bit massive. If Durant has to isolate So does the whole team, right?? Who the F...told them he could play at all. That person should be fired. Rocket River
My limited understanding of the nba's convoluted covid contact tracing policy, is that playing on the court with the exposed player (Durant) doesn't in itself court as "contact" that would force them into protocol. I recall a few qualifier including being maskless & small indoor room among others. But who really knows. With the all-star game, ever changing days players are held out and contradictory rules, the nba isn' engendering a great deal of trust.
Kevin Durant had COVID-19 last March, yet he has been one of the players most impacted by the league's preventative measures against it so far this season. The Brooklyn Nets star missed three games in January due to the league's health and safety protocols, and mere minutes before tipoff against the Toronto Raptors on Friday, he was held out yet again. in what turned out to be one of the strangest sagas of the season. This time, he underwent contact tracing that prevented him from starting, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews. This is where things get complicated. Durant was then allowed to enter the game midway through the first quarter, marking his first appearance off of the bench as an NBA player. It was reported that he did not need to undergo further testing, but someone he came into contact with did. He was cleared, played a good chunk of the game, and then, according to Andrews, was pulled out of the game in the third quarter due to the league's health and safety protocols. It is not fully clear what happened that caused him to be taken back out. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...ocols-despite-being-cleared-in-first-quarter/
Harden out there without KD/Kyrie is night & day vs. Kyrie without KD/Harden. Nets shot quality got way better.
They've got some work to do to make the playoffs. Especially if they want to avoid the play in games Losing ibaka and gasol hurt especially since baynes have been terrible.
