they also set moving screens, and foul a lot and somehow the refs dont call it.. curry or draymon reach in on almost every post move by an offensive player
SVG is a really good coach. His players seem locked in. Very impressed by their showing even though they are down they are playing hard and not making dumb mistakes. They are showing a lot of composure for a young team.
this is the best defense I have seen any wings play against the Warriors...like they are forcing them to beat them in the paint...
Caldwell-Pope has played some spectacular D on Curry. Gotta love the frustration on Green's face as well. The guy thinks he gets fouled on every single play. Really annoying to see him complain every single play.
Detroit showing us how to beat Golden State. The length and foot speed of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is slowing Steph Curry down a lot. McHale must try K.J. McDaniels as a situational defender on elite point guards/scorers. Cory Brewer is not the answer. If KJ can't cut it in that capacity, no need to hold on to him. Package him out with Terrence Jones and Dekker for a stretch 4 or an athletic situational (Blake/Lebron/etc.) 3/4 defender like James Johnson.
My fav player from the draft was Stanley Johnson...He is going to be a special player...reminds me of a young Artest...
The problem with trying to beat the Warriors is that yeah you may find an answer for their offense, but can you score on their defense? They are elite because they are great on both ends of the floor...
going into the 4th quarter of the clippers/grizzles game lance stephenson is 1 for 4 with 3 points paul pierce 0 for 4 with 0 points josh smith 0 for 2 with 0 points
Or they have guys on the bench like barbosa...that helps spot them 5 quick points to bump a 7 point lead to 12...They have Iggy come OFF the bench... Yea their depth helps them lock down a team once they have a lead. And they continue to score even with Curry and Klay on the bench
We are the only team that can match their offense (with Marcus Thornton playing the Klay Thompson role) and athletic enough to hang with them defensively. Once we get D-Mo back and make our annual trade (Terrence Jones heading out) we will be ready for war.
