He's averaging 10fga and 9.3 free throws per game, both a big jump from last year Maybe it wasn't him. Maybe he was tired of watching teammates slowly walk around the court, turning it over and bricking 3s then expecting him to cover up everything on defense
He's averaging 9.3 FGA a game and last year he averaged 8.5 I'm not sure that is a "big jump" maybe he would have gotten the ball more if he wouldn't have set half assed picks all of last year. There not point in playing the blame game there's plenty to go around why it didn't work. It doesn't change the fact that he appears to become ( for now ) with shooting the ball .8 more times a game.
He's also only averaging 28 minutes per game and getting more free throws. So overall it's a big jump in being involved in the offense Why don't we play the blame game? Don't we want to fix the Rockets? Everyone was perfectly fine blaming Howard as a cancer, saying he was no longer good, Capela is better, etc
Hawks current coach is better than any other coach Dwight has had outside of maybe Stan Van Gundy. Any coach he had in Houston was trash.
For the sake of repeating myself, Dwight was not reason / problem #1 or #2 or #3 for Rockets pathetic display last season.
Because Howard obviously wasn't the only reason behind our terrible season last year. There wasn't one person who was the main culprit. The people who think Clint is better than Dwight are just dumb. It was obvious last year he wasn't ready. Some of we're glad Dwight left because he obviously didn't want to be here and he wanted a major role in the offense. I just don't consider what he's doing in ATL a big jump in him being involved in the offense. If he would have just played like this with us everything would have been beautiful but he didn't and James didn't want to feed him the ball in the post.
He never said he wanted a "major" role in the offense. He wanted to get more involved than he was. Why was his role reduced from 2014-15 when we went to the WCF and dwight was awesome in the playoffs? The number of shots he got last year was honestly a joke.
Dwight was playing like this last year for about 10 straight games. Then he rolled his ankle on Marcus Thornton and missed a few games. When he came back nothing was the same for him or the team. He was definitely half assing it last year after the Allstar break. For what ever reason we prob won't ever no but it was bigger than anything we were told I'm sure. One thing I will say is that the Rockets handled his departure with class. They never said anything bad about him everyone still speaks highly of him and even James has nothing bad to say about him. Dwight hasn't been bad either but you can tell he was a little bitter and that's prob because he really wanted it to work and honestly really thought this was were he would end his career. It didn't work out we got Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon a year too late.
