jgreen91, Lots of people pick against he Heat to win because 1) you aren't laying down any hard-earned money when answering a poll question on clutch fans 2) Because of #1, people sometimes pick what they want to happen 3) Other things being equal, people hate seeing a bunch of whiny, flopping, cross-dressing, soft, entitled, egomaniacs winning anything.
How did you figure that OKC had the 3rd best defense last? They were 10th or 11th. I don't follow your pace argument. The Finals last year was played at slower pace than ANY team in the regular season despite OKC playing as one of the fastest paced teams in the NBA. But yes, matchups matchups matchusp. It was just the original showing of OKC being incapable of punishing teams with their bigs against smaller players, yet getting punished on the opposite end. (See Houston, 2012-13 for the latest example) It was especially comedic seeing LeBron afking on defense by guarding one of OKC's big and OKC calling for a pick, only to have LeBron suddenly guarding the ball as if that was an improvement for OKC (see every Harden play).
If he is going to retire, then he better step his game and give the Heat all he has in him to get his ring. I doubt it, though.
some great media day quotes here http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-heat/sfl-miami-heat-media-day-s060513,0,407160.story I think this was key right here
I'm pretty torn over who to root for in these Finals. I don't want to cede bragging rights to the Spurs indefinitely with a 5th title. But I respect the hell out of their organic dynasty a lot more than the plasticky made-for-tv dynasty that is the Heat.
Because I like to see them fail. There's nothing to like about them, while I've always had the utmost respect for the Spurs, and would like to see Duncan retire on top.
People vote with their hearts but are failing to recognize that Miami is an all-time great team. They had problems with the Pacers (if you can call a 30 point trouncing in game 7 a "problem") because the Pacers are a good team themselves, but, let's be clear, Indy never had a chance. Even if Indy had won game #1, the Heat would have just won #2 instead. Have we not learned anything from the past two years? The Heat like to coast and when they have to win, they do. I'll be very shocked if the Spurs win this series. I actually think the East is considerably tougher than the West due to the physical play and the "finesse" Spurs will be a breath of fresh air for Miami who has had to grind their way through two brutal, physical series. This is shaping up just like last year. Maybe the Spurs will win the first or second game and people will be prematurely celebrating, but I don't see them taking the series.
If you're implying the East is better than the West by saying they are tougher - HAAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH is all I have to say
Miami is going to win. Duncan is not that enforcer he use to be. He lost too much weight, he know has the body of Robert from twilight. Lebron and wade are going to have lay-up drill. Miami at 6.

Or Because people are just jealous.. I am sure if Big 3 were Rockets, people wouldn't complain. Samething can be said about any teams.
But they aren't on the Rockets. When Howard and J-Smoove join Houston, I'll stop my complaining. 'till then, its ABMiami
Jordan and Pippen blew up the Jazz pnr. Parker does almost all of his work using a pick, just like Ginobili; they can't seem to operate any other way, which makes them less than max players IMO. I suspect they will double Parker and force him to give it up before getting into the lane.
He might get to see an encore performance. You would think this series is for LeBron, by LeBron, and only about LeBron. The NBA only exists to showcase LeBron. I hope the Spurs kick his ass.
