damn it I was actually interested in what Simmons was going to say. Why couldn't they cut off Magic Johnson?

I hate the he guards 5 positions thing. He didn't get put on Hibbert when he was killing them. He didn't get put on Duncan when he was either. LeBron cannot guard legitimate big men. Holding 4s and 5s with no offensive game doesn't mean very much.

Neal was the one making ridiculous 27 foot threes with hands in his face. Green was getting the time to set and shoot before anyone got a hand up. Why? Because Allen and Chalmers stared at the guy with the ball rather than keep their eyes on Green, their man. That changed starting in game 6, which got him out of his rhythm.

Only guy who I ever watched defend who could really guard all 5 positions was Kevin Garnett in his prime

The fact we have to nitpik at how many positions he can guard shows how good on defense he really is. It's incredible that he can guard the 1-3, sometimes 4, and then center is debatable

Thx. It's gonna be really interesting to see what happens with Manu

Lol, this is why we can relate to them and root for them, despite the I-10 rivalry

I would say he is the closest.

Kevin had a hard time guarding heavy bigs. He didnt have the pounds to push them off the blocks.

But I do agree that he is the most versatile defender I have seen.

Yeah depends on the matchups those big centers like you said he can't guard them for a whole game but he is the most versatile defender.

There is nobody who can guard all 5 positions literally for the whole game.

2 championships, 2 finals mvp's, 4 mvp's, scoring champ, gold medal, rookie of the year. Just an amazing resume and he's not even done yet.

I still think of Bill Simmons as just a regular dude...so cool he gets to chat with LeBron and Magic like that.

LeBron is a great defender no doubt but guarding 1-3 is something a lot of good perimeter defenders can do so I wouldn't call it incredible.

He should take his talent to TNT and replace Shaq.

But how many can do it while also carrying the offensive load that he does?

Most great/elite perimeter defenders are spot up shooters on offense or non factors on offense.

Maybe but Lebron's size, strength, mobility, and athleticsm on the perimeter is unparalled.

Not many perimeter players can SHUT DOWN Parker and Rose the way Lebron has.

And then to run the offense on the other end makes it even more impressive.

That takes a lot, and I mean a LOT of energy.
