We complained about it when Malone did it, again and again. And I complain when Kobe does it, time and again, and gets away with it. Let's see, Kobe elbows Mike Bibby in the face. Bibby's mouth is bleeding, and the foul is called on Bibby. Game and series to Kobe. Kobe elbows Artest in the throat. Artest gets thrown out of the game. Laker's get technical and the ball (a three, if I remember). League later assigns a flagrant against Kobe. If Rocket's had had the the Flagrant, they could conceivably have gotten four points on the possession. So, an eight point swing, which may have been the difference in the game, and the series. Now, Kobe elbows Nelson and puts him on the deck. Watch the replay, he adds some force to the swing when he sees he's gonna make contact with the face. Fisher hits the three, game (and possibly series) to Kobe. Do a You Tube search on Kobe Elbow, and you'll see a nice compilation. He's one of the dirtier players in the league, and he constantly gets away with it.
Even the little girl couldn't save the majic last game! Good luck, majic! I want to watch more final games! Tonight game could be the last game of 08-09 season!
Great post. And it begs a question, who and when was the last Rocket player to throw an elbow at someone. Deke used to protect the ball - but he didnt THROW bows as such (with an intent to cause hurt/injury)
Wrong. It was as blatant as you get. You guarantee it would've been called if he elbowed Pietrus? Like it was called a few years back with Bibby? A foul is a foul....doesn't matter if its intentional or not.
Just a question... ummmm why do people spell magic...majic and why aren't they helping Dwight in the post..Its more than enough outside shooters. They can sacrifice 1 more for help.
2-for-9 for Bynum in the 1st... I doubt that's what Jackson had in mind if he asked him to be more aggressive.
No, he was holding the basketball when he turned around and Jameer ran up to double-team. Was it a foul? Yes. Was it blatant enough in that split-second sequence for the ref to make that determination? No. Yes, I think it would've been called if he fouled Pietrus. When I first saw the play, I wasn't sure what happened until I saw the replay- it happened too quick. Refs probably saw the same thing. And I can't stand the Lakers nor Kobe.
What on earth is Bynum doing out there? It's almost like he's looking to shoot every time he touches the ball.
