Unlike a lot of others, I rarely blame coaches, but I have to give this one to svg. Of course if howard and hedo makes free throws or if lewis shows up, they win, but not fouling with under 7 secs was dumb. His brother didn't like to do it and I guess he's stubborn not to do it either. Let kobe cross halfcourt then foul. Now he's shooting freethrows with 3 secs and they have to foul u. I don't understand it for the life of me.

I blame Jameer. What in the hell did he think Fisher was going to do. He guarded him as if Fish was threating to drive in. There was way too much time on the clock for them to take a foul like that, especially when the other team has the best closer in the game.

I'm sorry I what calls? Howard needs to learn to stop flying his arms- O wait nvm he doesn't have the skills to do anything else! GEez the anti-Laker comments has to stop. In the fourth didn't the Magic get like 18 FT and the Lakers NONE? No Magic team foul in ten minutes? Ya and I agree there were some bad calls. Like the lose ball on fisher when Howard pushed Pau to the floor.

Ya Kobe wasn't good tonight but Fisher was, infact lots of Lakers were. So enjoy the game this aint ClutchHaters.

In the NBA these something called a Balance call, for those wondering about the Kobe elbow to Nelsons face.
Unoe what, these also something else, it's this "magical" thing where no one guards you and lets u have free shots- It's called a FREE throw, and you don't win by not making it.

SVG is not to blame...he wasn't the one missing two free throws up 91-88 tha would have sealed the game..

It disgusted me that VG still thinks Nelson helps the team. I was screaming my head off to get Rafer back in there to stabilize the team.

Magic only needed one FT and they couldn't get it done. This is not how a championship team plays.

FT's? Okay. What "easy buckets" was he missing? You saw what happened the moment he touched the ball: instant swarm and/or foul.

Jameer Nelson totally blew the game for the Magic. Sure the Magic need to make free throws, but they had the game in their hand up by 3 and Nelson's ineptness blew it. Van Gundy should have kept Rafer in, he wouldn't have pulled that BS. Should've, could've, didn't...

It always amazes me when seven game series in sports come down almost completely to just a couple of plays.

If the magic make the layup at the end of regulation in game 2, and if they hit a couple of free throws in game 4, they are up 3-1.

Instead, some bad free throws and one missed layup and they are down by that margin.

Although it wasn't all his fault, I do blame him for not putting Rafer for Jameer in. Horrible decision to leave an defensive liability on the floor.

It may have had something to do with the fact that the Lakers outscored the Magic 30-14 in the 3rd quarter and Rafer played the entire quarter. Rafer needed a rest and when Nelson came in the Magic started chipping away at the lead until they actually briefly went ahead. It's the same thing a lot of coaches do when their bench players come in and play well. Up until 5 seconds left in the game, Nelson was playing fine. If that shot is missed, nobody is complaining and you look back and realize that Nelson played the entire 4th and helped the team regain the lead. He made several good passes in a row after drawing the defense to him down the stretch. He gave Fisher too much space on that first 3 but he did try to recover and did contest the shot to some extent. Fisher had open shots when Rafer was in as well. He just hit a big 3 and he may have hit it with Rafer in the game. The second of 2 threes he made, Nelson got elbowed in the face while trying to double Kobe. You have to double Kobe in that situation so I don't blame Nelson for the help defense.

Orlando is 0-3 when Nelson plays at least 15 minutes. In their only win, he played just 11. Rafer played 37 in that game.

Magic up by three, game on the line. free throws to seal the deal. two free throws missed. they give up the three pointer to tie the game. they go on to lose in Overtime.

I agree with VG for this! Without Nelson, the majic wouldn't be able to hold on in the 4th quarter!

Doug Christie: At least Jameer Nelson's chin didn't get called for fouling Kobe's elbow. :D

For the people who think Rafer should have been on court for the 4th quarter, do you guys remember the majic was losing big during the 3rd quarter?

If they foul, its a free throw shooting contest.
