Rafer sucks, but they got blown out with jameer playing. Rafer can't shoot, but he can do other things well.
no, they had courtney lee and anthony johnson so rafer only averaged 31 mins per game. HUGE. and they have 2 other perimeter shooters in hedo and rashard so rafer would take less shots. HUGE. we had neither. we had luther backing him up and only tracy.
I cant believe people are talking about how rafer is better than brooks. So far, brooks destroyed fisher and that was something billups couldn't even do.
and it baffles me how Johnson isn't getting any play time when he was a huge reason on how Orlando beat Cleveland.
He played with them for most of the 2nd quarter of Game 1 which happened to be the Quarter that pretty much took them out of the game.
i haven't said anything for 3 quarters, but the magic are handchecking and blocking on almost every single move to the basket by kobe, odom, or gasol and aren't being called for it at all and yet the lakers pick up blocking and ticky-tack calls all the damn time. kobe gets obviously fouled, nothing is called, and then on the rebound odom is called for a loose ball foul with his back to turkoglu barely even looking at the play. howard hacking gasol actually gets a call, wow.
I think orlando's best linup is when hedo plays the point forward and they have lee and pietrus in the backcourt.
In all honesty, the Magic's defense has actually been pretty solid this series. The Lakers offense isn't nearly as efficient and surgical as it was against Denver. LA deserved to win Game 1 regardless because Orlando was that bad on offense, but LA's 100 points was misleading because Kobe was just unconscious. If Orlando can get some shots to fall from the perimeter, their defense should keep them in every game.
and #1 in overall defensive efficiency. people think b/c they shoot a lot of 3's that that must be why they win and don't realize their defense was an even bigger reason. and nice job by gasol to get in kobe's way the whole way down the court on that last second shot. no rush pau.
Orlando's guards are 4/20 and they still have the lead going into the 4th quarter. Rafer is the chief chucker. It's Kobe time.
LOL at Kobe pulling a Lewis Scott on Shannon Brown. Everybody so surprised that Kobe tried to pass mid-shot to a cutting Brown at the last moment. "Stay there".....yeah, that was Brown's fault.
