Congrats to the Mavs on a great Finals! After the first few games in this series and seeing how the Heat were getting layup after layup after dunk after dunk, I had my mind pretty much made up the Mavs couldn't stop the Heat and would therefore lose this series. But, damned if they didn't prove me wrong. The Mavs figured it out and maybe that is a credit to their coaching while making adjustments as the series went along. When James and Wade are both firing on all cylinders, the Heat are tough. But, what I lost sight of is those guys literally have to play perfect games to beat a well-rounded team. And, that is what the Mavs proved...a group of guys playing in a team concept will overcome a couple of stars trying to propel their own team with a supporting cast who really had no team game and took a back seat to James and Wade show for the most part. Really, it just came down to the Mavs are the better team all around. I think the Heat's time will come if they continue building that team but the Mavs put in the time to build their team and team chemistry without shortcuts...and it paid off. Cuban finally got it right after years of tinkering to find the right mix. Mavs literally shut up all the naysayers and did what many thought was impossible given their rough playoff history. They deserve all the credit in the world. True champs that I would say compares well to the Rockets when they were champs. Dream needed the same team support and everyone stepping up. Mavs players stepped it up and picked each other up. That's what champions do. Just a dream season for the Mavs. Their ability to come back and win games when down throughout the season was just unbelievable.

Mavs doubters be gone! Mavs have their first championship...and well earned/deserved!!!

Oh...and the main turning point in this series could well have been that scuffle when the Heat were rolling. A Mav seemed to have started it with a bump/push...but the Heat got caught up in it and it set up several minutes of idle time that seemed to stop the Heat's momentum. Heat could have kept pouring it on and the game outcome could have been different. But, that down time helped the Mavs and hurt the Heat...no doubt. But, Mavs would have probably responded to that Heat rally anyway...cause that is what they did all season long.

Dirks legacy is now better than KG's, Barkley, and Malone. Those 60 win teams actually mean something now and the playoff duds mean nothing. Congrats to the Mavs. They showed the heart of a champion!

Apparently the "Big Three" refers to the ever-important first three quarters of championship games.

As t_mac_1 and his crestfallen compadres have implied throughout this thread: the Heat absolutely won this championship if you exclude the 4th quarter.

Hehe...t_mac_1 and a few other posters (Octavianus, clippy, etc.)...I don't even know what to say about these guys.

As usual, King Cheetah subtly said it best, without really saying it.

Of all the stats that people look at, the one that stands out to me was LeBron's +/-, which last night was a whopping -24...

You said the problem was not depth but one of the big 3 not showing up in the 4thQ. My response was, they still had 2 of the big 3, one more superstar then the other team.

    Hmmm, let's see

    Next morning? check
    Heat still lost? check
Im still not as rich as a NBA player? check

Am I still pleased to see the self-proclaimed King denied yet again?

    OH HELL YEAH

and the status of the Rockets title chances factors exactly NADA into my pleasure.

What some of you guys who buy into the whole ESPN-generated Heat frenzy dont seem to get, alot of us cant stand the Heat and Bronbron exactly because of the massive amount of hype that people like yall are constantly throwing in our faces.

Yeah, we get it, Bronbron is one helluva talented player, but when it comes down to it he *is* just a human....no more no less. HE doesnt deserve god-like worship because of his ability to play a game. Until the man shows some honest humility people like me will continue to find pleasure in his failures.

What is it you guys love to say? If you dont win the ring the rest dont mean a thing....right?

Padding myself on the back for picking Mavs in 6, although that was a pick/prediction against the Heat, coz to me, this could be just the starting of a dominant team in years of coming.

Dirk has earned my respect throughout this playoffs. The way he's been able to focus on the sole goal of that championship, and the way he's been able to elevate his game to an even higher level from a very high standard is incredible. His stat sheet last night wasn't too bad if you only look at the points and rebounds; however, he was really cold, just like German beer in a Bosch refrigerator. After all, it's still a team game. Dirk carried his team in all those games, and last night, his teammates, especially Terry and JJ carried him to the finish line. What an incredible night for Dallas, Dirk, Kidd, and Cuban.

Terry used to annoy the hell out of me, and he still does. But man, he stepped up big time tonight, in such a cold-blooded way. Jason Kidd, the old fox, what can i say. His leadership is no longer showing on those stats sheets with easy triple-doubles, but his leadership is felt on the court and in the locker room. Dallas used to melt under pressure. But now, fourth quarter big time come back becomes norm for them. You just don't see them get rattled at all. Be it unfortunate missed shots, unfavorable calls, stupid turnovers/mistakes, or super plays by opponents. They've been down big, and every time they rallied back bigger. That's what veteran true leadership gives you - confidence and poise.

Tyson Chandler was a big sign-on by Mavs. Again, hats off to Cuban, who might be annoying at times, but he truly cares and is willing to spend with a deep pocket. Man, what else can you wish for from an owner? Tyson Chandler gave Dallas a fierce battlefield passion, which they never had. Chandler does make lots of mistakes, and he's not the best on-man defender or team defender. But his willingness to fight on every inch, his length, and strength just made up everything he's lacking.

Again, it's still a team game. With unbelievable talent like Wade and LeBron, Miami heat was never a well-lubricated machine running on all cylinders. Their offensive schema is still Wade ISO plus LeBron ISO plus some PnR for Bosh. Facing Dallas, whose 4th or 5th option could go off and score 20 on you, 80 points from big 3 is not enough. They need a more balanced attack, and they need support from others. Yes, they choked big time, but if they hadn't had to carry the offensive load from the first minute, MAYBE they wouldn't had choked that much on the end.

Game 6 wasn't a very pretty game, and it was more of a mind game. But Dallas was the one in driver's seat in most of the time, in Miami. With Dirk starting 1-13, this win just shows how deep this Dallas team is. Totally deserved title for this team. What's next for Miami? I think they need to get a better coach, maybe Rick Adelman, who's a big fan of balanced motion offense. Also, they need to get some veteran supporting cast, and some interior presence. Bosh is not bad, but they don't really need him.

For those who are extremely hard on LeBron (I don't like him either), and give Wade a free pass, please remember James did it all in the Bulls series. He fully made up Wade's crappy games by shutting down Rose when needed and scoring when needed. Wade's stats line was nice in the Finals, and his pose may be cool. However, he didn't make up James' lacking of contribution, he didn't score when needed, and he didn't shut down anyone not to mention the best player of the other team. The conference finals win was on James, and the finals loss was on Jame, and Wade, and the coach, and this Heat team.

This is the best year to beat Miami, for they are not ready yet, as a team. Dallas just did that. Good job!

The man who calls himself King James was an embarrassment in the NBA Finals. Afraid to shoot, overwhelmed by the pressure, tense turnovers.

KG was the MVP of that Celtics team...

But, are you saying that because KG went to BOS (although it was via trade and Minny was ready to move on and KG agreed..)

    Thanks for the obvious(roll eyes).

Honestly, they need to get rid of Bosh. While he has been good and consistent, he's also hindering the impact of both Wade and Lebron touches. Lebron needs the bulk of touches to be effective since he is worst playing off of the ball. That is why he was exposed b/c of the lack of touches where he would normally get in Cleveland. They will continue to struggle as long as Bosh is on that team. Not saying that Bosh is a bad player, he just doesn't fit into the system and the ball distribution is wacked.
