It's weird, but if the Heat lose this year, I will be more inclined to root for them in the future. At least, I'll be more inclined not to root against them, and respect them more if they win (in the future).
If LeBron ends up winning 5-6 rings, losing this series to the Mavs will be a footnote in his long career. Very minor tarnish. But make no mistake, losing to the Mavs will put enormous pressure on him next season. In fact, a huge monkey will be on his back until he wins a championship.
