I can only remember one indisputably bad call that got Dirk free throws in a fourth quarter in this series. That was the "push in the back" by Haslem late in Game 3, which was by far the worst game in the series for the refs. Miami still won, so in the end it didn't do any harm.
christomasson Chris Tomasson LeBron James says not tired: "I feel like I'm in world-class condition.'' WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski LeBron James today: "I had a triple double last game and had a bad game in a lot of people's eyes"
maybe people are saying he had a bad game because he had 2 points in the 4th quarter and pretty much disappeared
The bottom line is this....if you can't win 2 games at home to secure a title then you don't deserve to be the champion. Period.
Bingo. LeBron James has now spoiled even the haters with his play. Apparently the "worst" triple double since his last one in the P.O.'s.
This. Dallas wins another on the road. Kudos. They will deserve it. Same goes for Miami if they win 6 & 7.
2 points in the 4th is rather disappointing. LeBron finally has the supporting cast he always wished for, and even with a triple double in hand they still lost. Tell me what I should think...
This is why I've been saying how triple double is meaningless without looking at the actual numbers and the actual performance. Headline: The Mavericks overcame James' triple double to take game 5. Just by looking at the headline, you'd think LeBron played a brilliant game and the Mavs stole a game despite that performance. In reality, as a player Lebron played a solid all-around game. As a franchise player, however, his performance was uninspired and uninspiring. Dallas didn't "overcome" LeBron's performance. They actually outperformed the Heat. The fact is: 10 assists is great 10 rebound is good (15+ rebounds would be great) 10 points is NOT good (20+ points would be good; 30+ points would be great)
Bron put up 27/19/10 in game 6 @Boston last year and everyone called him a quitter. Personally, I didn't think he quit or choked in this game, even in the fourth. He was getting hard doubled and made a lot of spot passes to spur on the Miami comeback. He also had a key stop of Marion on a breakaway layup late in the game. Where he fell short was missing a couple of open jumpers very late, along with that questionable charging call (which, correct or not, has rarely been called on him or other superstar players.. the NBA double-standard). But Wade also missed a bunch of shots (everything except for that big three, IIRC) and no one has brought it up. I think everyone expects LeBron to play with more aggression, and there-in is the disappointment. In Miami, I think he'll drive early and get some calls and that will dictate the rest of the game. In Dallas, that just wasn't happening, so he tried to play "the right way" and it almost worked. He was doing something right because the Dallas shooters were having the game of their lives and yet Miami was still in it the whole way.
45 minutes every game is going to tax anyone. You need legs. It's hard to finish around the rim and hit jumpers with tired legs. It's not an excuse. It's poor coaching.
Yeah. They knew the media would blow up every stupid thing they did. So they intentionally did some stupid things for them to blow up? LOL. That's genius, Wade.
he was also playing great defense, its also really hard to sustain that level of intensity. But that doesn't really dismiss him from dissapearing the same qrtr over and over. He should know when games are won and manage himself like that. Theres a reason Kobe will play like **** sometimes and just go crazy in the 4th and just win, as rockets fans we saw that far too often in 09.
Jason Terry's ppg per 36 minutes when LeBron James is on the court: 19.6 Jason Terry's ppg per 36 minutes when LeBron James is on the bench: 8.5
LOL. And these guys are supposed to be the leaders of the Heat. What was that one thing LeBron tweeted way back when? Oh, right, it went something like this....
yeah, except for the 99 other times he played so badly the first three quarters the team couldn't recover. Look,a game is 4 quarters long. I know guys like Durvasa have this shot valuation theory, and its great watching that sportscenter highlight reel, but the fact is what you do on the first 3 quarters don't disappear in the 4rth. Just cause you hit that tie-breaking shot doesn't mean you won the game if you shot 1-20 during the first 3 quarters. You can score 30 pts in the first 3 and then score 2 in the last, that shouldn't be seen as a bad performance. Other players who were passive during the first three should pick up the slack in the 4rth. In Lebron's case he already had a triple double with 17 pts. Its not Lebron-level so technically he had a poor game, but if you compare it to the NBA standard he actually had a great game. If Wade and Bosh duplicated his performance and got triple doubles of their own then Miami would have won. I just find it funny when people accuse lebron of not doing enough when his teammates couldn't surpass his production.
He made some key passes and rebounds, so he didn't disappear, he just deferred to Wade for the 4th. I guess assists and rebounds dont count in the 4th quarter any more.
