You are poking me for fun but I am just telling the truth. Too bad you can't change the fact. And no, I am not angry. It's just the opposite. There are many instances people asked why you are so bitter, why do you hate Kobe so much like an ex-GF. Maybe you should look into mirror instead.
i think Lebron can do it alone. or as the only star at least. the fact that he chose not to is what baffled a lot of people.. or me at least. He had some great drives to the conference finals as the only star and with a crappy coach. If he had a decent coach and slightly better role players he could have conceivably brought Cleveland multiple championships. Imagine RA coaching Lebron and good role players. that's all he needed. I hate him as a player because he seems like another super talented lazy guy (minus the lazy eye) who wants to cruise to greatness and have everything handed to him.
I make fun of Kobe fans when they overrate him in various posts. I find them annoying, just like I do MJ fans who think he never did any wrong (I post about that too, even some on this front page). However, almost all of my posts are about the games going on here or the other topics posted. Your whole purpose on this board is to promote Kobe or downplay other players who may threaten him. I've never seen you post anything that wasn't related to that. It's just weird. Don't you have any comments on the playoffs or Finals that don't relate to these topics? What are you trying to accomplish?
I dont think LeBron could do any better with Cleveland than he already did. The team had no chance of upgrading because it was always winning and capped out, and no marquee players wanted to come there. The coach really wasn't that bad-- yeah, the offense was simple but what were they supposed to do with that talent? At least they ran a great defense. I don't know how they would have done with Adelman (who, btw, would be awesome for this current Heat team), but I suspect that they wouldn't have won either because really the best offense for that team was making it the LeBron show. It's clear that this Heat team has some chemistry problems as even when they win they don't really click (when was the last time all of the big three had a decent game?) They kind of trade places and run mostly iso, which gets exposed against matchup zone. Why not go through Bosh more and generate an inside-out attack like he did in Toronto? Why not use more pick & roll between LBJ & Bosh/Wade? It just seems really simplistic. I do wonder if LeBron+Bosh or Wade+Bosh wouldn't do just as well or better, though, since it resolves the leadership issue. I don't think Miami will blow it up if they lose because they can win in the future on talent alone (esp. by upgrading the C and PG), but if they want to be as dominant as many (incl. myself) predicted, they have to rework the system.
Funny how I recently watched people on another forum discuss the rivalry in sports in the US compared to Europe. All the Americans claimed that in europe the fans are more resentful towards the other teams because of the city and their ties to it. Seems like a lot of you guys, even if you don't live in Houston per se, seriously have some strong and deep resentment towards Dallas it's not even funny. One guy claims he rather have an STD than seeing the Mavs win a ring. Seriously, outside of 2005 series, the owner, Dirk being a flopper and the Mavs killing the Rockets and JT always hitting clutch shots against us there is really nothing of much of a rivalry. Yes, they are in the same state and division rivals but that doesn't mean much. Now even if Cuban was a whiny b**** for calling the front office asking the refs to watch Yao more in 2005, at least he stood up for his team and made the calls. I honestly cannot say if Yao was getting away with moving screens. I don't see our owner doing anything when the refs favoured the Mavs later on in the series or when Yao is being discriminated against. Cuban has proven with the trades he makes, the overspending and pulling the trigger on a lot of arguable deals he does it. He has shown me at that conference with Morey about stats that he is a smart guy and passionate about his team winning. You can argue the way he behaves at certain games but he shows he cares. I like that in an owner. The dirk hate is also uncalled for though I will never fully respect him because of his flops, but he has proven especially these playoffs that he deserves respect. He is a clutch and being a leader to his team. Also if you're gonna hate on Dirk for his flopping, might as well hate Scola and or Martin. JT killing us every time has been frustrating but especially a team and city that's been called 'Clutch city', which hasn't had a team performing in the clutch since the championships, we should appreciate what he's doing. He is still a guy with a huge ego but 90% of the players are like that. In the end though it's not even about this, it's about the best team winning and that's the Mavs. The Heat are not even a team, just 3 so called stars put together with some role players around them. Also, it doesn't really matter to me who wins the championship, as long as it's not the Heat. By the way, Jason Kidd deserves that ring and a lot of players on that team with him. Dirk has been playing great and you got to show love to JJ Barea for his performance. The guy is small but playing big.
Players would have come if the right coach was in place and since Lebron had a reputation as a player who shared the ball. Especially with L.A. breaking up this season. PJ or RA could have been the next to coach him and the rest would have followed. Cleveland was not a worse situation than KG on the Wolves. He may not have won it this year but most likely the next year imo.
It's hard to say. LeBron really had to go all out just to keep that team on top. I don't really know how much they were pushing in free agency but if they couldn't even land Amare (got Jamison instead), then it's hard to believe a bigger name would have joined. They were really screwed with contracts. The only reason Cleveland has hope now is that they sucked and can rebuild through the draft. I don't think you can really blame LeBron for leaving. He didn't want to be the next Barkley/Nique/VC/TMac/etc. You can certainly blame him for making a spectacle of it (but let's be honest, the hate would have been there anyway). Maybe you can blame him for getting two stars instead of one. But maybe that wasn't the best approach anyway. At any rate, his decision has produced the most watched Finals in a while, and maybe the most entertaining one too.
Ok first of all, let's give credit where credit is due: Dirk is playing like the best baller in the world right now, and the entire Mavs team and coaching staff are performing like men possessed. This series underscored the importance of depth, teamwork and coaching, and really makes fun of that "talent always wins" slogan most NBA teams have. The whole focus on Lebron is BS, this should be about Dirk and the Mavs, just like how the Rox title run was about Hakeem and the Rox instead of Magic and Shaq. Secondly, for Lebron its not the end much as how goodbug wants to poke fun at LBJ and the heat. People forget easily, MJ was treated much the same way after he got his ass spanked again and again by Detroit. How about Kobe during his rape case, and when he ran Shaq out of town but then couldn't do anything by himself? LBJ's only 26 years old, he's still got more than a decade to prove himself. Adversity seems to bring out the best in him, look at how he played this season. Much as how good bug hates to admit it, 26 year old Kobe would wilt under this pressure he performs in night after night.
I was being sarcastic. But you pretty much hit it on the nail. The notion that Cleveland was forever done and Lebron's supporting cast and coaching staff would never imrpove is unrealistic. Cavs last year were dismantling a lot of great teams (they fricken raped the Lakers on Chrismas). Maybe if Lebron didn't have the mental breakdown they would've beaten Boston. The series was crazy competitive before game 5 and 6.
Let's also not forget that the Mavs have blitzed through these playoffs, dismantling three teams that a lot of people thought would beat them (esp. the Lakers). Had Dirk not been injured earlier this season, they would likely have had the best record in the NBA. It's really hard to believe seeing as their roster really hasn't changed much from those chokey teams the last couple of years, but this is a club playing amazing ball. That said, I still don't see them winning in Miami.
Well, they went from Finals, to ECF, to 2nd round, had no cap space, and was starting to get tons of scrutiny from the media since they had been expected to win the previous two years. It's true that their roster worked for them in the regular season, but the lack of talent got exposed in a series when defenses could key in on Bron and force guys like Mo Williams to hit shots (which he could in the regular season but didn't seem to be too good under pressure... doesn't bode well for my Clippers!)
It has actually changed a lot from said "Chokey teams" which I believe would be 06, 07 and perhaps 08. Chandler, Trix, DeShawn, JKidd, JJ, The Custodian, Haywood, Mahinmi, Brewer, Peja, Roddy B and Brewer(not even including Caron). The roster has changed MASSIVELY!
I think both teams can say they have a successful season, since most people thought they wouldn't get this far. Both had to pass rivals to get here, and both teams have played well. It now comes down to two games for the Heat, which they win, and hopefully will.
My thoughts: LeBron doesn't want to be accounted for the big shots, that's why he passes to his teammates. OR LeBron is being paid off by the mafia or by David Stern to lose these games. (maybe they want it to last seven games) OR LeBron is too scared to see his efficiency dip, scared of the flack he might get if he misses the shots he should've taken. OR LeBron is too lazy. What kind of superstar doesn't seize the moment like this? I know people will argue that he's putting up the stats, but he's putting too much faith in his teammates. Isn't he scared that he'll lose BECAUSE of his teammates? Doesn't he want to take the responsibility? Is he going to let his teammates decide his legacy? Finally This series is far from over, but if Dallas wins, it will be the bad karma idiot LeBron fans brought upon themselves by talking trash everyday. If Miami wins, then whoopty doo. Those douchebag LeBron fans will post **** about everybody.
That was when Nellie was the coach. I said it before the series. Dallas doesn't have the team defense like Chicago, but they have some damn good defenders. Kidd and Marion have always been good defenders and they have the strength to contain Wade and LeBron. Stevenson is no slouch either. And they have Chandler in the middle. Carlisle is a good defensive coach too. I thought they would be in trouble when Haywood went down. But Chandler has been terrific and he's playing heavy minutes. Last night you can see the difference between Haywood and Mahinmi is huge. They were lucky they could hit incredible shots on the offensive end. Anyway, Dallas has to close out in game 6. If they don't Miami will win game 7.
and LOL @ the moron blaming the refs on how they've been officiating LeBron. You know who you are. You're in my sig.
Saxtown, Octavianus and t-mac1. I know you guys are hurt deep down inside, but please let's pull this one together. It will be alright as I believe LB will dominate at home, and no one will talk anymore. Do you guys still believes this is the most dominate team in playoff history. I'm not too sure anymore, will see how the last two game goes. Opps, I forget to add Clippy. Sorry clippy.
