I don't like either team, however I hate the Celts more. When they lose, this should be a lesson that you can't buy a championship.

I'm gonna really enjoy watching KG cry like a little school girl when he loses.

I don't care as long as it is over in 4 games. I'm ready for this season to be done with and all I want is a healthy 2008-9 season.

Explain how the Celts bought a championship and what lesson they will learn. Last time I checked, they made a couple of key trades the past offseason. Good for them. The Celts aren't even close to having the highest payroll in the NBA.

    me too.

    i think it will go

    boston
    LA

    LA
    boston
    LA

    LA

    lakers in 6.

the 2-3-2 format actually favors the lakers. they can steal one of the first 2 on the road, then come back home and finish the series. but i dont think they can do it though.

I hate kobe and phil so i'm definitely pulling for boston. I think you might be surprised how much better the boston offense looks when they aren't up against a defensive juggernaut unlike the last 2 series.

possibly. but what about the atlanta series? and the pistons' defense was short of spectacular in the series. doc rivers' coaching ability worries me a bit too. he appears to be a good motivator, but his x's and o's leave a lot to be desired.

i don't disagree about rivers. atlanta didn't shut them down defensively however. Detroit and cleveland were able to be very physical with boston and amp it up with pressure to fluster the celtics. The lakers are a finesse team that wins with its offense.

Ray Allen will be the key but he will be guarded by a light weight defender in Radmanovic. This should be his series to shine. Also, I don't like the interior matchups for LA with KG/Perkins against Gasol and an undersized 4 in Odom.

im pretty sure D Stern must have a woody over this matchup.

    Fk the Stern playoffs.

    i am boycotting.

and i concur with an earlier poster who said they just cant wait for this season to end so that we can focus on 2008/09 and the rebirth of Clutch City.

the spurs are an easier cover defensively when you consider they were playing bowen, finley and oberto for stretches starting games. plus the spurs choked away games 1 and 5. that series should still be playing tomorrow in all honesty.

yes, rondo struggles offensively and perkins is hit or miss, but they are better athletically than any of those 3 guys which will create its own set of problems.

This poster sums up my feelings perfectly:

ESPN is going to be more unwatchable than normal for at least the next 2 weeks while they slob the knobs of these two big market teams. Ugh.

    Oh yeah, Lakers in 6.

Lakers in 6. Celtic? 7 games against Hawks and Cavaliers? Even Houston could've beaten them. I can't believe the Lakers manhandle the Western Conference to the final.

stop drinking the LA koolaid. The big 3 is really the big 5, Perkins and Rondo EASILY match up with any of the Lakers at their positions..Pierce is no slouch either and will give Kobe a run for his money. Celtics in 5 or 6.

Its all about matchups..the Celtics were built to dominate teams like the Pistons and Spurs. When they are on all cylinders like tonight, they are a nightmare team.

*sighs* not AGAIN.... are there any nba fans these days who understand match ups ? the lakers are a different team with different personnel than any of the other teams the celtics have played.

by your logic, the celtics should not have been able to beat the cavs, since it took them 7 against ATL, and certainly should not have even had a chance against the pistons. it boggles my mind how people are underestimating the celtics. 2 of the teams they beat were great defensively. one featured the most physically imposing wing in the game, and another team with arguably the best starting 5 in the league. the lakers beat two teams who play NO DEFENSE, and an old spurs team who should have been dusted off in the 2nd round. (**** you peja).

this is the celtics first time playing together so of course they would struggle some. but i am the only one who sees the celtics are getting stronger as the playoffs go on ??? they won the previous two series with ray allen shooting like 20%. now 3 of the last 4 games he is shooting up around 50% again.

they did not win a road game in the first two rounds, then came back to win TWO against their toughest opponent yet.

the lakers are a solid defensive team, but i don't think the celtics will have to face anything tougher than what they faced against the cavs, with their big physical bigs trapping them hard on every pick n roll, and clogging the paint up.

i said before the detroit series the celtics would be able to score easier on them than they did on CLE, and i believe they will be able to get those same good looks against the lakers.

Celtics in 7. Going to be a great series.

Will KG get his long awaited championship or will Kobe add to his legend?

When the Rockets were knocked out (painfully, might I add), this is the Final's matchup that I was hoping for.

I'll be rooting for the Celtics because I'm a huge KG fan, but I just don't know. Kobe is a beast and he's been there many times. He will not rattle.
