In a way it makes me angry, because Ming is clearly "holding back." He is not doing, on a consistent basis anyway, what he can do. I know it is a team game. I know he is dealing with many new players. I know that the is working within a system that might not make it easy for him. BUT, he is not bringing his entire game each night. And he should. He has amazing skills, but we only catch glimpses. Imagine if he, as TMac suggested, "let the dogs out." Well, it would be the Suns game every game. Scary.
Well, a lot of it has to do with JVG. We all know what Ming is capable of...remember JVG was the one that told him not to do all of those fancy passes we see in his first yr. I don't think its a bad thing, he just doesn't want Yao to do more than he has to b/c he has so many other assignment on the court, like setting picks, focus on defense and rebounding. I think he will let him lose the more he get comfortable playing in the NBA. 3 years in the NBA is not a lot compared to those thats been here all of their life.
Awesome. Gotta get me som sound to hear the reaction! Who was the player that had the balls to pass Yao the ball on a fast break/on the move like that? Stuart
I believe Wesley made that pass. Yao was the only one open at the time and David had to get rid of the ball as the D was swarming him IIRC.
WOW. That is our 7'6" center guys!! He shoulda finished it with something crazy like a windmill and then slap the back board before staring down the Blazer bench and then saying "What?"
funny how shaq always says Yao is "just doing what he's supposed to do at 7'6." Shaq couldn't pull off a move like that in his DREAMS!!!
You must have missed some of Shaq's moves and coast-to-coast dribbles in the All-Star game like a few years back...It was hilarious! He was trying to also do a 360 windmill jam like those of VC
Either way you look at it, Yao looked coordinated. Like a 7'6 small forward.....THAT"S AMAZING! I really truly had NO IDEA Yao could do any of that. I figured he would stumble like Bradley.
After seeing the behind-the-back dribble and realising that he had a clear path, my bet is that T-Mac was saying to Yao as he trailed Yao "dunk it big guy" or "all the way Yao!" or something like that... Stuart
