No, I am not complaining about that.....at all. I am just saying he looks slow.... I have said repeatedly he looked quicker in Denver than Detroit, so it was progress, but overall he still doesn't look very good. DD
In other words he looks like a guy who had micro fracture surgery and has played 16 minutes in 10 months? So if you put it into perspective he looks great. If you judge him like any other healthy player who is in game shape, he looks in bad shape. That is my issue with your views.
I'll say this - I like McGrady being employed off the bench, I don't think any would or could argue that he should be starting after these two games have helped settle the is he/isn't he ready arguments. That said, I don't see any good coming sending him onto the court when there isn't a favorable matchup in sight. He needs to play facing guys he can at least neutralize point for point. Last night was not one of those times, but I'll stop well short of blaming him for the loss. Dallas and OKC next. I might give him a shot against Marion and Josh Howard, but 8 minutes is too much time if he's getting left repeatedly. I don't like him in any matchup against the Thunder (Sefolosha, Durant, Green, even Harden). Maybe against the Clipper reserves. Honestly, he needs to be seeing guys like Peja, Grant Hill, Artest...slow footed 3s.
loool but DDs logic is so flawed it isnt funny.. well he thinks he is always right, so when he is wrong he tries to switch it up and make it seem like hes right.. doesnt work like that
Perfect world? McGrady makes an amazing recovery and is back to his superstar self by the end of the season and in the playoffs. He re-signs here in 2010 for $3M (or less). Actually, no, that's not a perfect world. Perfect world would be dumping McGrady's contract for Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor's gigantic contract. Heck, I'll even take Posey, too, tossing in Scola/Brooks. McGrady/Scola/Brooks for Paul/Okafor/Posey? I'll do that.
No. McGrady played horrendous defense on Carmelo. If you can't admit that, you're being blinded by something.
I wouldnt mind if the rockets resigned tmac for the Vet minimum, if we can have him for cheap and bring in a Dwade or Bosh i think we will be a dynasty for about 3 years, Starting 5 c-yao f-bosh f-ariza g-tmac g-brooks OR c-YAO f-scola f-tmac g-wade g-brooks
Well I don't care. I'd call it decent to ok. Maybe I am blind, lol. But it didn't look all that horrible. Even Cabbage saw that
one year minimum contract. he needs to prove himself to the world again. this would be a smart decision for him. if he plays like tmac of old he will get offers from other contenders after the year. if he plays terrible, he will likely retire
Of course TMac wants to resign here. Without the chinese votes he gets for being Yoas teamate he would never make the allstar team.
Interesting point. I thought you summed up the problem so many have with Tracy pretty well in your post earlier, the one quoted below: Here's my thoughts on the subject. McGrady's actions created a schism on the board, not that it takes much, to be fair, but of far more concern, obviously, is how it impacted the team. There has to be some lingering resentment there. We've had a group of guys who have stunned the league with their play so far. I can't begin to estimate the numerous times I've heard a coach or a commentator say, "This Rockets team is a team no one wants to face. They never quit, they never let up, they just keep coming at you and they've been winning games with a style we haven't seen in Houston before." I love hearing stuff like that, because it echoes how I feel. This is the most fun I've had watching a Rockets team play in years. The one thing that concerns me more than any other is the impact Tracy returning is going to have on the team and on our level of play. Do we toss out what has worked amazingly well so far this year, so we can see if Tracy can reintegrate himself into the team concept and system Coach A has them playing, taking some losses in hopes of being a better team at the end of the year? Will we still make the playoffs, something I think we are currently on the road to doing, if we take that chance? Do we cost ourselves a great situation for developing our young players in a positive, team-oriented, and winning culture that could have them playing their best ball in the last weeks of the season, so we can decide whether Tracy is really worth bringing back? With his expiring contract? Man, "simply" trading him for some complimentary pieces that fit into the current team, and the team with Yao going forward into next season, hopefully, is pretty damned attractive. Yao, at least, is a worry for next season. Tracy is the here and now.
If he's only going to be 90% all year.... That gives any team who trades for him grounds to sit him for the insurance money. Translation, he's found out the only teams interested or seriously have a shot in trading for him are non-contenders wanting his insurance money.
