Lol.. How do you expect him to look when he is just starting to play?? This isn't a video game where you can automatically kill when your player is 100% healthy. This is the real deal my friend. Its going to take time.
Well if he wants to see how he does I believe he needs more than 8 mins considering the way Aaron Brooks and Ariza are playing. Just jacking up shots and missing. Well Ariza anyway
Ultimately, Tmac re-signing here has less to do with what he wants versus what he is capable of. As Ziggy said in one of the post above, he has immense talent and you don't find that talent very easily - it all depends on if he can still utilize those skills. Personally, I don't really mind if he resigns here as long as he can still play, which cannot be found from 15 minutes. The team is appearing to progress nicely without him; I don't mean this to slight him because I remember the days when other Rockets would stand around watching him work, which was terrible. All the Tmac hate/love really is unnecessary, as he isn't doing much right now that warrants either of these. I have to disagree with Dave78 and say that Tmac's 7 or 8 minutes shouldn't be blamed for the loss in Denver. The way RA has designed it, Tmac plays the first quarter and the team has the rest of 3 quarters in case any bad mistakes are made. Now, 7 or 8 minutes in the fourth quarter would be a different story. To blame Tmac for the loss is inane because his impact, in general, has been minimal in both games (although there are some signs of improvement). In the end, the team had almost 3 full quarters to catch or surpass Denver and they just couldn't do it - give credit to Denver.
Honestly, I think Adelman took out the "hot hand" in Battier. Battier should have been on Carmelo every second he was in the game. Adelman maybe has more confidence in McGrady than I do. Or he thought there was enough cushion for McGrady to work. Just my strategic opinion, because the playoff race is too tight in the West and I dont want to concede anything to a good team. McGrady has to get looked at in a game situation, no way around it. Just he's more in PREseason evaluation mode while everyone else is in full tilt cohesion. His talk with Scola says it all. McGrady negatively or neutrally affected the outcome of the game, very hard to say positively. But there's UPside and next game is a different story.
McGrady aside, its not the first time Adelman has pulled Battier off a premiere player either. Batts was destroying Lebron in the first half of the Cleveland game but for whatever reason Ariza got switched onto him. I don't know if this is a "rest" issue or what but Adelman needs to keep Battier on the opposing star the entire game, thats his purpose here.
