That's it. The bobcats can only take one player from each team. At least Charlotte can't kill this deal anymore. Now it's up to whether Orlando decides to go through with it or not. If they pick a RFA then they immediately become an UFA and are free to pursue their own deals. Charlotte makes a pick without commiting to a salary or a roster spot.
But why would Charlotte bother then?? I know there is a reason, im just trying to figure it out. How does it benefit them???

Apparently they're not taking anyone with big contracts or anyone who has more than two years left on their deal.
Think about it. Who is available? Either over-the-hill, or way over-paid players. When teams can reserve 8 of their 12...that's slim pickin's for the Bobcats. I wouldn't want to HAVE to take anyone either. Good play by bickerstaff.
Because they HAVE to take 14 players BUT they dont want 14 contracts so they take restricted free agents so they can then turn around and dump them, and they CAN NOT take un restricted free agents.
Perhaps other teams want to bid for them without having to worry about the original team matching the offer without recourse. Fizer, Bremer and Kapono might fit into that situation.
They need to make 14 picks no matter what. If they pick up 14 guys with contracts then they have to pay them all even if they aren't going to be on the roster.
Doh Ok. I understand now. So basically, they are required to take a minimum of 14, but they want to leave roster spots open for draft picks and FAs.

I dont like what they did, they diddnt make thier team attractabable to free agents at all? who would go to a team like this?
