4th: Maurice Carter from New Orleans 5th: Drobnjak from Clippers, due to 2nd pick for 4th pick trade 6th: Desmond Ferguson (sp?) from Portland
1. They become unrestricted, so the Cats can negotiate to sign them. 2. The Cats may well not want 14 garbage players on their roster, so by selecting RFAs they get players they can decide not to keep without taking a cap hit, however small.
no gaines...nice. they keep saying they'll be talking about certain players tomorrow. deals? esp. players whose names they cannot pronounce well... ???
Lonny Baxter JR Bremer Primoz Brezec Marcus Fizer Richie Frahm Brandon Hunter Jason Kapono Zaza Panchulia Aleksandar Pavlovic
How does this work? Why don't they just give the league a list of the players they want? Why drag it out? Anyway, so far: F Lonny Baxter Washington G J.R. Bremer Golden State C Primoz Brezec Indiana G Maurice Carter New Orleans C Predrag Drobnjak L.A. Clippers F Desmond Ferguson Portland F Marcus Fizer Chicago G Richie Frahm Seattle F Brandon Hunter Boston F Jason Kapono Cleveland
After most picks they spend mindless minutes talking the guy up. Zzzzzzzzzzz. What was hilarious was after one particular guy, the host turned to Bernie for elaboration on the player and Bernie simply said, "let's move on". The guy is a RFA and they obviously won't even consider offering him a new deal as a total FA.
Pavlovic can play. Fizer as well. Bremer had a decent season a while back with BOS I believe. But its the players and pcks they got for *not* picking some players and *for* picking others that will be most important...
