I think we should try to spread out our chances. With #5 # 8 & #12 one maybe two will be in an all star game one day.

Historically, your still way more likely to hit an all star with a top 3 pick than anywhere else.

There are anomalies of course, but the majority of years the top 3-5 usually become the best players of the draft, even if some of them can be complete busts.

Agree with this tbh. I think people fall in love with branding too much Green and Mobley have so much hype but just in terms of potential Barnes, Kai Jones and Kuminga among others may end up better. This draft seems deep af reminds me of Zion's draft class.

Yes but in a draft as deep as this you kinda want to diversify imo cuz after Cade there is no "consensus" talent. Even Cade is not a huge cut above the rest Scottie Barnes or Kuminga has a chance to be the best player in this class.

There’s a pretty big drop-off after the first 4 IMO. Kuminga’s shooting splits were terrible. Barnes’ 3 percentage is bad, and his FT% is awful.

It’s not just 2 vs 5 or 2 vs 8; it’s 2 vs 5 &/or 8. We are broken and one piece is not going to fix our problems. If we can turn one “stolen” pick into two still very high picks, than last year is the best tank ever. This is house money so double down. It all better than #18.

How about draft Green and trade up to pick Kispert. Tank next year for Jaden Hardy

    Jaden Hardy
    KPJ
    Jalen Green
    Kispert
Starting Center with good defense/ back up center with good defense

A few defensive wings on the bench to sub in while always having two of Jaden Hardy KPJ and Jalen Green on the court.

    Profit

    Gordon + #2 for Isaac + #5

    Draft Scottie Barnes

    Wall
    KPJ
    Barnes
    Isaac
    Wood

I know at least @D-rock would get a hard-on from all that length

Just take #8 and let them keep Isaac. He battles injury problems.
    #5 Barnes or Suggs
#8 Bouknight, Moody or Sengun all controlled contracts with just as much upside as Isaac if not more.

I'm with Fatz on this one. I agree that Isaac has great potential, but do we really want to be the ones to pay this guy off of flashes. Rockets don't need to be in a position to be paying anyone until we're a piece or two away, and Wall is off the books. Isaac is due for a new contract next season as well

Even if Isaac is better than anyone at 8, I 'd rather have #8 and cheap production until 2025.

Isaac is under contract until 2025 at 17 mill per

Isaac has shown he is a DPOY level player in the NBA. His size fluidity and instincts combine to be an incredibly special player

If he tore is achilies, or had a foot/knee fracture I’d be right there with y’all, but players recover from ACL tears all the time no problem.

Stay with me on this one:
Rockets trade Wood, Gordan to GSW for Wiseman, Wiggins, #7, #14.
Rockets trade #14, #2, Detroit’s own pick for Cade (#1)
Rockets pick Kai Jones at #7
Rockets pick best available at 23 and 24. Lineup

    KPJ
    Cade
    Wiseman
    Wiggins
    Kai Jones

    Wall
    KMJ
    Tate
    23 and 24

Since this is apparently the Random Trade Thread: Draft version, here goes:

    Rockets trade: Wall, #2 pick
Kings trade: Fox, #9 pick, #39 pick

Rockets then take Jalen Johnson or Sengun at 9. Two players that have a strong chance of becoming one of the best players of the draft. Mann and Thor at 23 and 24.

    PG Fox/Mann
    SG Porter/EG
    SF Tate/KMJ
    PF Johnson/Thor
    C Wood/Kelly

I doubt Sacramento does this, and from our end it’s a bit of an unconventional way to rebuild, but this scenario would grab my attention. Still not sure I’d do it, but you have to admit - it would be a fun team to watch.

I'd love to trade up for Sengun, Kai Jones, Jalen Johnson, and even Zaire Williams - people are sleeping on Zaire.

    hmmm. I like the creativity!

Jalen Green for Sacramento makes an unbelievable amount of sense. I love DeAaron and used to go watch his games at Cy Lakes since its in my neck of the woods and knew he was destined for big things. Great player...

    BUT

Im all in on KPJ ... I know I know ... dude is too volatile and edgy. Loyalty should be a thing again, and I dont think KPJ at the 2 or off ball to Fox maximizes who he is as a player even if in a basketball bubble it may make more sense.

If we do trade to #1, I like Bima's idea even more.... also sounds plausible

That sounds like the Warriors trading back 9 spots for absolutely no reason
