    Rockets: 11

3 teams behind us will go into top 3 (which happens 1 out of 1 million tims).

I can't believe Tyrus f*cking Thomas is being discussed as the possible #1 pick. He might be the most unimpressive top prosect I have ever seen. He's just a skinny jumping jack with no game whatsoever. I don't see this guy having any impact in the NBA whatsoever, outside of a Darvin Ham/Jerome Williams energy type guy.

This might be the weakest draft I've ever seen in my years of watching basketball. Please trade the pick. We need help fast and these guys can't bring it.

Pick you think we will get: 3rd

Player you think we should get: Bargnani

Thomas and Alridge will already be taken, leaving us with one logical person to take. Bargnani just needs to bulk up and learn an entry pass so that when yao is doubled he can be money from the three.

we'll get pick 3 if we get into the lotto, and with that pick we'll pick adam morrison as aldridge and and bargnani will go 1 and 2.
if we dont get into the lotto and are picking at 8 we'll either choose between roy,gay and carney or the best player available

I'm not expecting any miracles but also with our luck this season, you have to fear us getting the unlucky draw and moving into the 9-11 range. We've had the worst luck possible this season, if we walk away Tuesday night standing pat with the #8 pick i'll be happy.

Who to pick? Gay if he falls otherwise Roy or Carney.

I don't think we should have Gay and Head on the same roster, I just don't think they go together.

Just a reminder. These are the probabilites of lottery:

    1st: 2.3%
    2nd: 2.7%
    3rd: 3.2%

    8th: 72.5%
    9th 18.4%
    10th 0.9%
    11th negligibile

So we have 8.2% chances of landing the first 3 picks, 72.5% staying where we are at #8 and 19.30% chances of #9, #10 or #11.

Being Gay, I think he would like to be in Rockets uniform. I'm sure he would love to have Head on his team. I don't know why, though.

wow thats really interesting. i had no idea we had a one in five chance in moving down. thats kind of scary. and about a one in eleven chance of moving up. reminds me of the time i read the chronicle and found out we won the #1 pick.

i was freaking out and was with my grandmother and she was asking me what the hell was wrong with me :D

I watched that lottery live. As soon as we got past our spot, I knew we had the first pick and knew that we would draft Yao, having seen a 60 Minutes report on him months earlier.

I'll take #8 and Brandon Roy.

Roy is the type of player likely to slip a little in the draft because he won't impress teams when they start to measure foot speed and vertical leap. His game isn't flashy and he's not an exceptional long-distance shooter that's going to wow teams with a Boki Nachbar-style workout. Also, he has a history of knee problems that could scare some teams away.
Roy is a solid scorer who can get his points in a variety of ways. He's got decent size at 6-6, passes very well for a shooting guard and can defend a variety of positions.
I compare him to Paul Pierce, who fell all the way to #10 and became better than almost everyone taken ahead of him.
While other teams reach for average big men or exceptional athletes, Roy could slip to #8 and the Rockets would be crazy to pass him up.

If we got the 1st pick, I'd call up Danny Ainge and ask for Paul Pierce. He could have #1, Alston, and Swift in exchange for Pierce.
