Both great teams! but Maloe wins this just because of Lebron James IMO

Spooner. Just really like the ways his team is built. At least finally the two best teams finally make the finals.

Ok guys, I just dont buy it.

First off, Maloe's spacing is really messed up. The only three point shooter in his starting 5 is Lebron and if Maloe wants to maximize his effectiveness, he should have put a team around Lebron enabling him to act as the facilitator. Luol Deng is shooting abysmally bad from 3 this year .28 on only 3 attempts per game from 3, isn't what you need out of your starting shooting guard. Although he is shooting a decent percentage from the field he is redundant when you factor in what Lebron and Lawson do. Ty is anythng but a spot up three point shooter, taking only a few per per game and shooting a mediocre percentage at that. One thing he needs to work on to get into the next tier is his shooting and his defense. He, like Lebron and Deng, wants to get buckets going to the basket. Having said this, Deng and Lawson are terrible fits next to Lebron as all three players offensive strengths are in the same areas. They are all redundant. I suppose Maloe could start Butler at the 2, unfortunately for him, Butler has not become a great three point threat himself, only attempting a few a game and shooting a mediocre percentage. So where is the shooting? Is that really the best way to maximize Lebron James? History would say, NO. On top of this, Gasol is still out with an MCL injury and should have been accounted for. If I were Maloe, I might as well start Ryan Anderson but he wouldn't fair very well defensively against the likes of Randolph. Not that he stands a chance against Monroe really...

Ty Lawson also isnt a very good defender. Who is going to stop Tony Parker? Luol Deng? I dont think so. I mean really guys, I have two MVP candidates on my team in Tony Parker and Kevin Durant. Who is Maloe's second best player? Ibaka? This shouldn't even be a conversation.
Thanks for the votes all the same and......

Congrats to Maloe for the victory. Everyone rep him.

If there isn't any shooting, how can the players even utilize their strengths from the field? Just terrible. Did you guys even bother to think about this?

Well, at the start of the draft someone said that we are doing this based on this year and assuming everyone is healthy. So that's how I'm judging. So I don't agree when you say that we should account for Marc Gasol's MCL injury. I'm just considering him healthy.

Now when someone drafts Rondo, then that's different, since he hasn't played this year so I can't judge him based on this year. So in that case I just ignored Rondo. But Gasol did play this year.

Now, he wasn't at his best. His defense was off. His offense was great. So that's how I'm judging him. Great offense, so-so defense. I'm not accounting for MCL injury in any way though, and I don't think i should.

Overall, I don't think either of these teams had a great supporting cast. There are some big names, but they are having subpar years by their standards. There are some lesser names (Lawson, Wes Matthews, Ibaka) who are having very good years.
As far as supporting cast around their no.1 picks, I'd say these teams were among the last. But their no.1 picks are LeBron/Durant, so that's why they are in the finals.

Spooner's team had an offense that made more sense. Maloe had more defense, especially on the perimeter. I also liked his roster flexibility much more. There are just so many possible lineups that make sense. Most of these players can play in multiple positions, and there's no concern about foul trouble at all. He could easily go super small with George Hill at 2, LeBron at 4, Ibaka at 5, if there's a need. Or he could go big. He could increase shooting or increase defense. Spooner's roster is pretty straightforward, for example, if Noah is in foul trouble, there's no rim protection and no defense at all.

Maloe's spacing is a bit inadequate compared to Miami's, i.e. LeBron's post up game would be underutilized. But it's solid spacing overall. Bigs with good range, several solid shooters on the bench. I suspect Deng wouldn't start and either Butler or George Hill would start instead at SG.

Overall, two good teams with two best players, decent but not great supporting casts if we are judging just by this season, close series, but I liked Maloe's team a bit more.

I appreciate your response. While we may have our differences, your opinions make sense and they are certainly backed up with facts. Thanks for taking the time. Repped.

It's OK, I should've taken out maloe in the first round, but we can't win them all.

I say when we have less people like this we should initiate a cap. Think it would be more challenging. This was too easy and when we have like 20 brehs we could go no cap or cap, which would be fun and challenging either way. So cap no matter what when we have 12 or or less.

The spread rep has a ridiculous amount.
