most of the posts shouldn't be about the rockets...it's the nba forum, not the GARM.

Can you make the College, International Hoops & NBA Draft forum a subforum to the NBA Forum?

    How about the NBA/CBA/College/Intl Forum?

I would say yes considering the College Basketball posts tend to be posted in the Hangout so they will actually get viewed. The College and International HOops forum doesn't get many looks.

as for the name....not too sure about that one.

    The Dish

    All Non-Rockets Basketball Discussion

    ...or something along these lines?

Let NBA Draft threads get posted here, let people talk about college hoops in the hangout or something. Its not like there are many posts, but I just think it would be unorganized with college threads in here.

I vote to keep them seperate. If anyone is interested in a thread about a prospect, they can look in the CHIB, and the Dish can be left to those of us who want to worship Cat and continue b****ing about Fancy. :)

Clutch, here is the problem. The "College, International Hoops & NBA Draft" forum is a third class forum and no one wants to spend time visiting. It's pretty much the equivalence of threads oblivion. Therefore, why would people want to post there, if there is no one there to read their post?

You moved my "Bogut" thread to there, which is like announcing the death penalty to that thread :( , which is in fact pretty meaningful and discussion-worthy.

The first class forums(based on number of visits and posts): GA&R and Hangout

Second class: "NBADish" and "BBS Hangout: Debate & Discussion"

Third class: "College, International Hoops & NBA Draft", "Texans, Astros, Comets" and "Fantasy sports".

No one wants to waste their time on the third class forums. People want their threads to be read, and that's why they post them here. If they can post in the GA&R, they won't post it in the NBADish. If they can post in the Dish, they won't post in the "College and International". That's the way it is. If you combine the "College and International" and the Dish, you are strengthening the Dish, and it might become first class. Then, you don't have to waste time on moving some of the threads from GA&R to Dish anymore, like you always do. :)

By the way, here is my proposal.

    1. Leave the GA&R as it is.
    2. Hoops (combine the Dish and the "College, International Hoops & NBA Draft").
    3. General sports (combine "Texans, Astros, Comets" and "Fantasy Sports Leagues".

There are only a couple threads on the "Fantasy Sports Leagues" and "College, International Hoops & NBA Draft" anyway. Combining them with other bigger forums won't make them over-crowded any time soon.

Doing the NBA draft in NBA Dish makes sense to me.

If there was a critical mass of people who were actually interested in college ball, that forum would be be more populated. Since it isn't, I assume interest is low. If interest is low, why pollute Dish with it during March Madness?

Half the college b-ball threads (generally, involving Rice Alumni living vicariously against other basketball programs) are started in the Hangout anyway. It can handle the overflow.

Clutch, I Vote NO to merging.

I am a big fan of the NBA Dish forum. I like talking about other teams and other players in here. I dont want to muddy up the NBA forum with College/Draft and International/Olympics talk.

Perhaps the College/Draft/International forum is more "niche" stuff but I go in there if I want to read about that stuff, especially during those times.

Merging the 2 forums dumbs the board down. It says people are too stupid to recognize that there is a forum for College stuff and to post there if need be.

It was a smart move to split the Hangout Forum and the Serious Discussion forum.

And I like the split here with the NBA forum and the "other BB forum".

So again, a STRONG "NO" from me on merging. It would lessen my enjoyment of this forum if it was merged.
