My brother suggested this trade, and yes i also heard it on many forums around utah boards.

    Something like....

Tracy Mcgrady + Battier To Utah in Exchange for 1 year rentals for

Carlos Boozer + Matt Harpring + Kyle Kover.

-I would just say yes to this trade considering how we have bud and ariza at sg. MaTT Harpring could play depending on health or he could just retire and we get his cap relief. 7 m i think. Overall its a ok trade.

shane would be more useful on a championship contending team. he gives the rockets leadership but but right now is the time to trade him.

I would stick to Tmac and Shane. None of the players coming back would give the stabilizing factor that a veteran like Shane brings. With Mutombo retired and Yao and Tmac out, who would be the one leading the team, in terms of leadership?

Nobody is experienced enough as of yet to lead this team. AB, Scola, Landry, Anderson, etc. They are all way too inexperienced for a leadership role.

That is why keeping Shane is of utmost importance.

Your comment really made me think......Would I root for McGrady if he was on another team. Well, it didn't take me very long to come up with my answer. HELL NO!!!! He quit on us so I'll quit on him. I do wonder if he'd get boo'd or cheered when he comes and visits the Rockets at the Toyota Center wearing another teams jersey???

Next the NBA media would say Scola, AB, Landry, and the two rookies we drafted this year would benefit form a change of scenery. I say we hold on to all our players and wait, since it looks like if we trade Tmac today, we will only get a bunch of trash back in order to make salaries match. Because of the negative views in the NBA based on his first round exits and injury history, we are not getting Amare, Bosh, or any big name player for Tmac, even if he is healthy by the allstar break. Why should the Rockets help out some other team because of key injuries on our team?

Leadership is overrated. The way I see it, we don't need a "leader" because we don't need any "followers". I don't want a strict hierarchy of authority out there. I want all 15 guys to be willing and able to make their own decisions, instead of instinctively looking to the nearest veteran for help.

Not to get political, but it reminds me of how a certain party loves to go on and on about the importance of having a "strong leader" as president. Personally, I'd rather have a president who follows the American public, instead of leading it. Unlike the members of that certain party, I don't have any desire to be led...

Im not exited with the fact that are gonna suck this year :( ,but I think we should RELOAD with new young talent, a Battier to Portland trade would be very beneficial to the rockets if they can get Webster, Outlaw and/or Fernandez or Bayless and this upcoming year is a great opportunity to develop any young talent that we can trade for, so they can get ready for a (hopeful) 2011 championship run....so we get younger and more athletic at the two & three positions, with Ariza/Outlaw at three and Webster and/or Fernandez at the two. :D

WAT????? one year rentals do nothing for us. Mcgrady's contract alone is bigger than the combo of the expiring ones we will bring in. So the 2010 FA summer is unaffected. but why would we bring in another PF and get rid of needed SG + SF's???

This is a r****ded trade idea. We are on a one year hiatus, not in a one year go for broke.

I mean why dont we just trade brooks + scola for gortat while we are at it. Tank our franchise not just the season.

Quit on us? He had one bad game/season... He brought us some incredible memories.

I would definitely cheer for him unless he played the Rockets.

I'd boo the **** out of Artraitor though.

I wouldn't trade Battier unless the Rockets get Rudy Gay!! :D

Tmac definitely needs to get out of Houston, its best for him and the organization. He isn't loved here anymore.

People complain about going after the likes of Kevin Martin and Rip Hamilton because we're "rebuilding", and we don't want older players with big contracts. Then people complain about going after the likes of Boozer and Camby because we're "rebuilding", and one-year rentals won't do us any good.

Which one is it?!! (And I'm not talking about you specifically btw)
