    Kendrick Perkins (bilateral infrapatellar tendinitis)

Does that mean, in medical terms, "this kid is not ready to play?".

Either that or it's made up. Some trainers sitting around joking to one another while filling out the IR for final rosters.

    Trainer A: "Perkins...back?"

Trainer B: "No, back is too obvious. heel spurs?"

Trainer A: "We already gave that one out to Mills. How about tendinitis?"

Trainer B: "I like tendinities, now let's make this one good. How about...INFRAPATELLER tendanitis"

Trainer A: "I'm liking it (while chuckling), but I can do better... how about this "BILATERAL infrapatellar tendinitis?"

Trainer B: "Is that a real injury (puzzled look but amused)...but I love it! I'll put him down as...Perkins, bilateral infrapatellar tendinitis"

Trainer A and B: Laughing..."he should have went to college..."

I believe you can only have 15 players on your roster, including those in the IR list. That means when (IF) Eddie is unsuspended, somebody will be bumped out, right?

    Yeah, pretty much. :D

Reminds me of when the Kings placed Nick Anderson on the injured list. Right before the game started, color commentator Jerry Reynolds remarked that Nick "has been told he has some sort of wrist ailment or something."

I just love it how the injured list gets abused to no end, and no one cares. :D

time for braggs and wilks to step it up and prove themselves. i think this a good opportunity to show everyone that eddie and moochie are expendable. EG and mooch should be sweating about now.

    Francis/Norris/Wilks
    Mobley/Piatkowski
    Jackson/Griffin/Nachbar
    Griffin/Taylor/Braggs
    Yao/Cato/Amaechi

We have exactly 15 players. Everyone gets to stay. :D

Oh wait...there's also Ben Davis. Who I have no clue about...

I guess it will be Braggs and Davis fighting for last spot...unless Eddie Griffin is waived or something...or on the suspended list the entire year.

actually, there's 15 including eddie. but once ben davis comes off the IR, he'll most likely be cut, and there will actually be room for one more player.......who will that player be??? i still think we need another 4...how about the worm? j/k!!! :D

What do u expect? A star?

If we didn't have Amaechi, we could use Cherokee. He is a big body to do the dirty work.

Great post Brown_hornet. My favorite was about two years ago. I can't remember who, but he came out at a press conferece and announced a leg injury. Press asked which leg, and he responded "I'm not sure".

BTW - it is still called the injured reserve, but an injury is no longer required to be on it.

But Brown_Hornet got me off track. I copied this form Rockets.com...

    "Rockets Set 2003-04 Roster

Oct. 27 - The Houston Rockets have set their roster for the 2003-2004 NBA season, general mManager Carroll Dawson announced today. The team placed F Eddie Griffin on the Suspended List and also placed Ben Davis (knee surgery), Adrian Griffin (knee surgery) and Eric Piatkowski (left ankle sprain) on the injured list.
The Rockets roster now stands at 11 active players : John Amaechi, Torraye Braggs, Kelvin Cato, Steve Francis, Jim Jackson, Cuttino Mobley, Bostjan Nachbar, “Moochie” Norris, Maurice Taylor, Mike Wilks and Yao Ming. "

I thought the active roster had to be 12. Not more, not less. Just another mistake in my life, or have things changed. Anybody know.

Pat, thats usually the case but it seems that all three of the Rockets on injured reserve have legitimate injuries so thats why they're not on the active roster.

Cherokee is a soft, slim centre. He has a decent three point shot though.

    :)
