one day your friend makes a mistake, your trust will be gone.

generally speaking, i trust in the dealer more than anyone else. the problem like you said is that their service is very pricey. when your car ages up, it's not worth to send it to dealer. for small or routine problems, i have no problem with your buddy or any auto shop. when running into a big issue, i would go to dealer to at least figure out the problem.

The doctors suck. They should have, knowing Yao's injury, tested more in depth to find out and take measures against additional injuries. It seriously took an entire offseason to find out that his injury was not healing? Also, everyone knows Yao is a big guy and has a history with foot issues and we don't even have degrees in the medical field. The doctors should have been much more careful and monitor him constantly, regardless of whether or not he is actually injured or in pain.

i think yao will be fine.... for the first part of the season he will be on limited minutes and probably taking off back to back games, will not play the all star game and for the second part of the season he will play with more regularity, and in the play offs he'll become an unstopable beast....watch ;)

    WHAT?

You can't see tiny fractures in a bone, until it shows up on an XRay or something similar.

And even if they found the microscopic crack earlier it would not have changed a thing, it is his enormous size that is the problem not the doctors.

Stop blaming others for what is simply an act of nature.

If Yao can return it is because OF HIS DOCTORS....because without them restructuring the foot, his career would already be over.

Yeah the Rockets have a terrible track record. I wouldn't be surprised if you see Yao logging heavy mins again and people scratching their heads. I hope I'm wrong and Brad gets his mins down to about 20 per game.

It is not just the organization but Yao himself, he pushes himself so hard and his body just can not take it.

What they need to do is everyone be on board with a plan to limit his practice and his game times.

Be smart with a guy who is probably too large to play basketball for a living.

The aquisition of another quality big will nullify the concern for Yao's health issues. Birdman w/Melo deal anyone?

i'd think the odds of Yao Ming making it through the season injury free is significantly less than 50%. and yes, any player can get injured but some are more susceptible than others.

As a fan when you hear things like Yao wears shoes that don't support him and you see the guy playing the whole 1st Q with no rest it's fustrating. Rick is going to have to treat his mins and rotations with Yao with delicate hands next season. I agree they need to be consistent get him back into shape with some low impact workouts.

He needs to play at the lightest weight possible he's still going to be way heavier than his defender 99.9% of the time.

doctor should have done restructuring his foot before anything had happened.

my suggestion to fix his right foot now!!!

The best solution is to replace all his bones with stainless steal.

Since folks are talking about Yao's medical health here, I have a question perhaps someone can answer. Yao says he's lost 40 pounds. That's music to my ears, and in the brief video clips so kindly provided to us by Clutch, he defiinitely looked quicker and lighter on his feet... for Yao. Is that 40 pounds off of his playing weight last year, or off whatever his weight might have ballooned to during his long layoff? Anyone know?

I don't think the title is particularly true. One, he's not 'still mending.' He has mended. He's not going to heal any more than he has already. And two, while we need Yao to hope to contend, I think we're relying pretty heavily on our depth. Even without Yao, this is a good team.

I thought I read something that said his aim was to get down near 300, so I would think those 40 pounds was weight above his playing weight.

Yeah, he said he had put on some weight while being out. He's lost 40 so far and plans on losing another 10-15. So I think he'll still be slimmer than his playing weight, but not by 50-55 pounds.
