We are tied for most with Miami and Los Angeles at 24 excluding NBATV. There are an additional 9 for each on NBA TV.

thanks bob718 and Sane. I would hat to be a Wizard, Hark, or Raptor fan. Zero nationally televised games! That is pretty harsh. It seems like you either have alot of televised games or very few. 11 teams have 16 or more national games while the most of the rest of the teams is 9.
Talk about the haves and the have-nots! 11 teams get the TV glory and the rest get limited appearances. I am surprised the Suns got that few appearances considering that they are built to be a fun up and down team. And the Cavs stink but the star power of James puts the Cavs with teh 5 most TV games! Cleveland getting more nationally televised games than the Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets is just ridiculous. Lebron James is a good basketball player but there is no reasoning behind 22 games on national television. This team had a less than mediocre season last year. And that was WITH Carlos Boozer. Not making the playoffs with Carlos Boozer and the Lebron James in the (l)eastern conference is insane. Why would anyone want to watch this trainwreck next season?
Man, poor SF3 only gets to be on national TV 3 times next season!! That's another reason that he should try his best to come back to Houston to play with Yao.
Last season Yao did not star that hot and actually he had his best months in Feb and March. He faded in April.
Wow... I know they're going to suck and all... but wouldn't they give the new Franchise a few more National games to give everyone a look at them? I guess if you really care to see them you'll make sure and catch them that one game lol...
By Tim Povtak | Sentinel Staff Writer Posted August 3, 2004 The Orlando Magic will play a mere 3 games on national television. In exhibition games, Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets will visit Orlando Oct. 23; Shaquille O'Neal and the Miami Heat will play in Orlando Oct. 27 and in Tampa Oct. 15. Those games were scheduled before McGrady and O'Neal were traded. During the regular season, McGrady will make just one appearance in Orlando, on Jan. 20. O'Neal will be here Feb. 27 and April 20. The trade of star Tracy McGrady may strengthen the Orlando Magic, but it stripped them of their league-wide appeal, severely reducing their number of nationally televised games. The NBA released its schedules Monday for the 2004-2005 season, giving the Magic just three games on national television (TNT and ESPN), and all are primarily because of whom they are playing. The Magic, by contrast, appeared 12 times last season on national television broadcasts -- including the second consecutive year on Christmas. The NBA Santa Claus won't be coming this time. "It doesn't surprise me or disappoint me. We won only 21 games last season," said first-year Magic General Manager John Weisbrod. "Our focus now is demonstrating to our local supporters where we are going. That [a lack of national games] doesn't mean a lot to me right now." McGrady, who was traded to Houston this summer, will make his only regular-season return to Orlando on Thursday, Jan. 20 (TNT). Shaquille O'Neal and the Miami Heat will be here Sunday Feb. 27 (ESPN) and April 20 (no national television), the final day of the regular season. The Magic also are on nationally (ESPN) against the defending NBA champion Detroit Pistons, but not until April 8. The Magic won't announce their local television schedule until later this month. They will be on NBA-TV, the league's own cable package, six times. Although the Magic are saddled with 21 sets of back-to-back games -- a high number by NBA standards -- they landed an attractive exhibition schedule, almost by accident. McGrady and the Rockets will in Orlando Oct. 23. O'Neal and the Heat will play in Orlando Oct. 27 and in Tampa Oct. 15. All three games were scheduled long before the trades that sent McGrady to Houston and O'Neal to Miami. The Magic will announce their entire exhibition schedule later this week. The leaders in national television are the Heat, Rockets, and Lakers, all with 24 appearances on either ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, or ABC. The Hawks, Raptors and Wizards are the only teams not scheduled to appear on any national broadcasts. ABC will begin its NBA television package on Christmas Day with the much-anticipated Heat/Lakers matchup, the first and only return of O'Neal to play his former team in Los Angeles. The NBA season will begin Nov. 2, which is three days later than a season ago. The Magic open Nov. 3 at home against Milwaukee. This is the first season under the NBA's new alignment that puts the Magic in the Southeast Division along with Miami, Atlanta, Washington and the expansion Charlotte Hornets. Each conference will have three divisions and each divisional winner is guaranteed one of the top three seeds for the playoffs. The next five seeds will be determined by order of record. The Magic will play each team from the Western Conference twice. They will play each team from the East four times, except for New York, Chicago, Boston and Milwaukee, whom they play three times. The Magic have been rebuilt completely from last season when they finished with the league's worst record. Only Keith Bogans and Andrew DeClercq, among players who contributed significantly last season, have contracts for this season. DeShawn Stevenson is a restricted free agent who could return but is shopping is services elsewhere. The Magic are hoping that No. 1 pick Dwight Howard can develop into the marquee kind of player that will attract national television, but his prep-to-pros jump still makes him virtually unknown on the national level. They are hoping that guards Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley, who came in the trade of McGrady, can carry the team until Howard blossoms. The Magic will have a tough first half that includes a six-game West Coast trip in December and 10 road games in January. They play the new Charlotte franchise in the third game of the season, giving them a quick look at Emeka Okafor, the No. 2 pick in the draft from Connecticut whom they bypassed to take Howard. They also get a quick look at the retooled Lakers who make their only Orlando appearance Nov. 12. Although they sent O'Neal to the Lakers and Kobe Bryant's future is unclear, they remain one of the league's marquee teams. The Pistons, who beat the Lakers in the NBA Finals, don't come to Orlando until Jan. 18.
