I'm assuming that you think that Yao won't be healthy all season, because that's the only way you have the Rockets below the Thunder AND the Jazz. Also, I know you're a Spurs fan, and that's why you have them rated so high, but there is no way they finish better than the Mavs.
The Rockets being so low doesn't surprise me, but what shocks me is that everyone rates Denver so high. Their most important player is slipping (yes, Billups is more important to the Nuggets then Melo, and he got wrecked by Deron last year), God knows how Karl's doing, and they only added an overrated chucker. I have them at 7th, and I don't know why people expect a resurgence out of them or them to be any better then last year.
I didn't even wanna read the article after what you'll posted 1. Lakers 2. Mavs 3. Rockets 4. Portland 5. Thunder 6. Jazz 7. Spurs 8. Suns That's right son I said it, but what do I know
So... our team consisting of perennial all-stars Brooks, Martin, and Yao. Isn't better than the Phoenix Nash's?
I would beleive the rockets are better than the thunder and nuggets maybe the jazz and spurs..but as great as yao is him having the ball means less shots for the other guys but when its all said and done I think rockets are the big ? mark out of all these teams then the nuggets without george karl
I don't really care what he thinks about the teams. BUT can someone tell me how in the world can this guy be taken seriously when he can publish a sentence like this: Yao Ming is far more crucial to the Rockets’ cause at this stage of his career than Greg Oden (and to a lesser extent Joel Pryzbilla) is to the Trail Blazers’ cause at this stage of his fledgling career. A high school freshman could probably write better than that.
Thunder are not better than Rockets. Suns without Amare sure as hell aren't better than Rockets. Stupid list is stupid.
I have no problem with the article in regard to us. Everything he said was pretty accurate. He said a healthy Yao is worth about 10-12 more wins which makes us a 52-54 win team. He also mentioned that we added more depth which you would imagine would give us 2-3 wins which puts us as a 55-56 win team which would have us at the 2 or 3 seed last year. People need to get over the fact that he had us at 8 and actually read what the article says. The Rockets don't get a lot of love but there are very few writers/analysts out there that don't think we will be a contender in the West with a healthy Yao. There are however a lot of writers that think he won't be healthy and can you really blame them for basing their predictions on that given his track record?
http://360fadeaway.blogspot.com/2010/07/2011-playoff-predictions.html This blog has a better prediction analysis of the West.
That is probably the most realistic prediction I have seen. I truly believe Houston, Denver, and Portland will be fighting between 3-5. How does this guy get it down yet a professional NBA.com writer can't?
Pretty sure this is the actor. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7d0leuz-WrA&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7d0leuz-WrA&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
that video deserves its own thread and five more about it. i wish the offseason would just be more videos like this getting me pumped for the upcoming season. AMAZING stuff clutchcityreturns, you have talent.
No, the prediction that doesn't have the Suns at the 3 spot is obviously the better analysis. How can Phoenix compete with no inside threat?
