too early to revisit the trade.

the nuggets were made into a very deep team with 2 starting caliber players at almost each position, but have no stars. the knicks now have 2 stars with almost no supporting cast.

in 2 years the knicks can build a supporting cast around their stars. in that time can the nuggets find 2 superstars to lead their role players? big picture, knicks win trade.

Carmelo Anthony is a great talent on the offensive side of the ball , but on defensive side he fits in well with the Knicks and their attitude towards defense... which is basically system " we will try to outscore you" ala the Suns back in the days .

A few people on this board said it.

They claimed that the players NY were giving up was a garbage package. Of course they felt like Houston had a better package. It was the folks that wanted Melo in Houston.

i thought a lot of people believed that NY gave up too much, and they did.

danilo is going to be a borderline all-star player in 2-3 more years; chandler will be a very good starter.

denver's situation is very much like us: lot of really good role players and one borderline all-star, except they have a legit big man in nene.

now if they can get that superstar, oh my

denver has a bright future. they can flip raymond felton in part of package for a star.

Denver isnt going to keep Felton along with Lawson. And Chandler could be gone somewhere else for more $$$. So Denver could ultimateley end up with Galo and Mozgov as ex Knicks. They will also make additions in who ever they draft from the picks they got + who ever they get from trading Felton.

They will be minus JR and Kenyon too, along with Chandler and possibly Affalo.

So Denver could be crap next season while going through a rebuild while the Knicks will mend their chemistry and grasp D'Antonis schemes better. Too early to tell which team is doing better since trade.

Oh they still got robbed, especially when you saw what the Jazz got for Williams. That's more of a fair return for a star player.*

Chandler is a restricted free agent from what I can tell. So if they match the offer he gets (would make sense, let JR Smith walk), they can have at least another full season of all the Knicks pieces they acquired.

Yeah it makes sense to move Felton. They might be stuck with him depending on how the CBA turns out, but just for one more year so he's not the biggest albatross or anything.

Perhaps. Teams have won championship without 2+ stars in some rare cases.

The 1st Rockets championship had one clear superstar - Hakeem. OT wasn't close to a star, nor was the rest of the supporting cast.

The Pistons championship team (2004?) had 5 very good solid players with no weak link in the starting lineup, but no real SUPER star: Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Sheed & Ben Wallace were all very good players, but not top-10 league talents.

The Nuggets currently reminds me a bit of the Pistons (in that era). I don't think they'll go very far in the playoffs, but they are deep, and play hard on both ends of the court. The playoffs in the west should be fun to watch.
