No doubt Hayes is the MVP of this team. Tell me you don't cringe every time he leaves the game because you know the other team's best post player is about to go off on Scola/Andersen/Landry. Brooks is the team's runner-up MVP if you ax me.
The only reason Ariza is there is because he's the most recognizable player on our team due his playoff performance. He has played well but Brooks has been better thus far. Regardless, neither will be on the list next week.
Yep. No doubt. Of course though, before the season no one cared about either. I'm sure the only Rocket game they have seen this year was the Laker one, and saw Ariza hit that shot.
Or Rick Adelman, for that matter. I'm sick of seeing scrubs like Mike Brown win the Coach of the Year award, riding Bron's jockstrap while coaches like Adelman get overlooked even though he coached this team to a 22 win streak in a season riddled with injuries. Plus, last season was even more impressive IMO, with the introduction of so many new faces (Brooks, Lowry, Artest) and how Adelman incorporated all of them into the team AND turned the team around from their funk in Nov./Dec. into an impressive, well-oiled unit that took the Lakers to 7 games in the playoffs.
Yeah, because we always give out MVPs to players whose teams rank near the bottom of the league. Don't you remember when.... wait that never happens.
