As long as we have Morey, MDA, Bzdelik and Harden we are good. Just go for high character players that bring the best combination of shooting and defending.

Are you saying Bev or Smoove are not high character players? Every championship team has at least one guy that plays on the edge, every single one.

Bev is a very high character player. I think we're defining it differently.

Smoove is not a high character player at all. He doesn't do the dirty work. He just acts tough and makes terrible n selfish decisions.

Guys who play on the edge sometimes fall off of it. It's just the nature of the beast for guys who play with that kind of intensity and emotion. Does not make them any less valuable, would argue the opposite actually.

    Basically what he said.
The hip check cause a rally of suspensions that disrupted and destroyed the Sun's momentum
Amare' was dominating and the Spurs had no answer for him

Yes and Josh Smith was consistently falling off the edge for almost his entire career. There's a reason he got cut from a big 4 year contract. The flashes of brilliance he showed did not make up for his erratic play the rest of the time.

Got cut by the Pistons (they ate something like $40m owed, unprecedented). Got signed for the minimum by a desperate Rockets team, and his flashes of brilliance coincided with necessity. Then stupidly signed with the Clippers for the minimum for some alleged disrespect. Then got traded back to the Rockets for nothing. Then wasn't retained at the minimum. Then couldn't get an NBA contract. And here we are.

I am with you on your theory, but Josh Smith is not that guy. We were all hoping he was a Rasheed Wallace, but he couldn't pull it off. He couldn't stop his own ego to stay on the "edge" long enough to be a significant positive contributor for an NBA team.
