[nba.com] Iverson makes no apologies for All-Star start

When's the last time you watched an all-star game?

You're not gonna see superstars setting picks for Allen to get open all night. It's all fastbreaks and isolations.

you dont see a lot of assists in this game, the only assists you see in these type of games are passes behind the back, no-look passes, alley oops, etc.

I believe the fans love Allen Iverson because of what he did in the NBA, he was a little guy who was fearless and eventually became a MVP, NBA scoring champ, lead his team to the NBA Finals.

That's why they want to see him. The Philly fans don't forget what he did for them.

It's not an embarrassment that he was chosen.

 

But Tin, you have to admit that the All-Star game has become a joke along with the Iverson, T-Mac and Gasol even being in the game or close to it....

The All-Star game was started to reward the players who played the best season and back then most of the guys made more in the All-Star game than they did the entire season.

Now it's just a popularity contest and not on who has really shined with their play and this year the entire format has been exposed.

 

It's not Iverson's (or McGrady's) fault. It's the Internet's, before which fan voting was low-volume and informed enough to be workable.

 

Can someone post the link where it gives an explanation of why we don't want to keep tmacs contract. How the salary works and trade scenarios. Thanks in advance.
