I talk about this earlier in another thread...Hayes has an NFL type body, more so than NBA one. I've already said that Hayes weighs more than Dumervil and Freeney on a good day. While, he'd be one of the tallest ends in the league and quite possibly being the best leaping one and fastest. I think he'd be at least average to good as far as speed in retrospect to defensive ends.

In another thread, we were basically talking about how Chuck can't be moved so easily on defense, even by the likes of Gasol or Bynum. I'll even throw in Garnett and Bosh. That is because most NBA players aren't really as powerful below the waist and lower back like Chuck, or even the upper body. Chuck has what another poster mentioned, which I think is NFL strength. Alot of NBA players wouldn't last the NFL it is too violent and requires alot of lower body (and upper body) strength to play.

People act shock when they see that Bynum or Gasol can't move or barely moves Chuck Hayes. I don't see what is so shocking about that, 9 times out of 10 you aren't going to move someone around who is stronger than you or about evenly match with you physically. This is why most players in the NBA can't stop Yao or even an older Shaq, they don't have lower or upper body strength together to slow either player down. For instance, even when Yao comes back, I don't think a player, like Bynum or Oden will be able to slow him down with only raw power. He's just too big, and alot of his power is below his waist.

I think LeBron has the body moreso than most NBA players to actually contribute to NFL team and possibly be a real pro bowler. So would Big Baby, if dedicated himself to it. I'd throw in Artest, who is very bullish and aggressive. Maybe, Nate Robinson, he'd make a good receiver, he's fairly quick and can jump real high. If he had average hands and was decent at running routes, he'd be starting next week on NFL team.

It's strange, the most bulky players are considered to blocky to some people for the NBA, or the shorter players are considered to small to be of impact on the court. Yet, if they could perfect one skill in football, like pass catching or beating LT off the block, they'd almost be highly sought after NFL player.

I think the NBA players bring a few extra dimensions to their game that not too many football players possess. If you got someone like Artest or Hayes at ROLB or playing DE. I can't think of too many left Tackles who would be able to shut them down alone coming from the outside. I think too much agility, combined with strength warrants alot of double teams. While, you also have a player who can almost perfect playing passing lanes with very long arms. Those weak short passes can turn into an in completions and interceptions. Also, consider that basketball is played at much more hectic pace. I don't think they'd wear down, like some of the players on NFL lines often do in the 4th quarter.
