Why? We have two gaurds equal to or better than him. Martin and Budinger give us exactly what he would give us. Budinger might even have more upside still than him and Martin is certainly better.
Rudy alone isn't enough for any of the Rockets worthwhile assets. He'd certainly have to come in a trade package of some sort. Maybe this guy... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2ubqfaI07Ak&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2ubqfaI07Ak&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Head coach of the Vipers is also head coach of Great Britain's team. Freeland is in the GB team.
I'll pass. Rudy will whine and isn't even that good. Heck i'd rather take a shot at developping Whiteside then getting someone like Rudy who will never be better than an energy guy off the bench... Its time to take a REAL risk and stop going with security Shane Battier trades..
Obviously we'd get one of their bigs as well since Morey wouldn't trade 14th for Fernandez alone. Remember, the Rockets aren't going after Fernandez, but rather, it's the Blazers that are looking to get rid of Fernandez. We'll be happy to take him provided some other perks are included.
screw this. Morey better be using his time to find a way to get Anthony Randolph, Andris Biedrins, or Monta Ellis. the Warriors have some good players on their squad. Even Azubuike is a solid player. He can defend, is real athletic, and can really knock drop those 3s. Morrow is a dead eye shooter. don't wanna see another team get one of those guys for nothing. just like when they gave up Corey Maggette for Charlie Bell and some other guy. I think we have more than enough to get one of these three in Randolph, Biedrins or Ellis.
How about trading for Hasheem Thabeet? The Grizz have a glut at C, and the 14th plus the NY pick could convince them to part with the once 2nd overall. IMHO he has a higher ceiling Whiteside.
I seriously doubt that they are trading him. esp. so soon but no doubt is his ceiling higher than Whiteside's.
How is Thabeet's ceiling higher than Whiteside? And please don't say b/c Thabeet was the 2nd overall pick. Some early 2011 mock drafts(which at this point are mostly based on upside) had Whiteside at #1(Over Barnes and Jones) had he stayed in school. --RB
first of all Ellis is on a new contract recentlly so he is not coming and biendrins is a horrible contract and we can't have him as a back up.and Randolph hasn't proven any thing yet, he is to hot headed! But morrow sounds good because we r weak at the back up SG so he would be a GREAT cheap addittion to our team!!
I don't really see the need for Rudy. If he was a free agent and all it cost was cap, then sure, but what need would he really fill here. You would have to give up something and that would just create another hole.
Thabeet Ceiling Whiteside Ceiling Floor Thabeet has done well at shotblocking in the NBA in limited minutes. He hasn't been a complete doormat on man to man. Grizzlies played better defense with him on court. He still needs to work on offense.
perhaps considering a Battier for Fernandez swap wouldn't be too awful considering their respective age otherwise no go on Rudy
Rudy Fernandez is a good player but with the way our roster currently stands the main question you would ask Morey would be.... What is the point??? -I would rather keep those minutes for Budinger any day. But our interest in Rudy might be rooted in us making other moves in the near future that creates a need for a solid lights out shooter off the bench.
