this is pointless all they are going to show the audience is stuff like "they are beating us to the loose balls and play better defense etc..."
This is why live cameras in a locker room is a bad idea (NSFW) http://publish.vx.roo.com/thedaily/...+TV&ClipId=1418_174163&bitrate=300&Format=wmp
agreed. the nba AND the networks both have critical review representatives basically censoring the content that will be aired. the impact on network tv viewer ship will be MUCH more of the same 'let's hustle'....'we have to defend'.... other basic coach-player interactions to make the casual fan feel closer to the action. the real threat here, and what most around the league feel threatened about, is the stuff that will be recorded and now monitored by the nba that IS NOT aired. the stuff that teams have to say to one another to win, from discussing defender's weaknesses and other 'secret strategies' which they wouldn't want televised, or even straight up venting or b!tching about a ref/opponent/situation that the players are entitled too. phil jackson was right when he called it 'big brother'. if i'm a coach/player i would certainly feel intruded on. and as a fan, i'm not naive enough to think that i'm actually going to see some clandestine locker room interaction or hear the spurs magic strategy from pop's mic. it doesn't really appeal to me, i don't feel like it will enhance my viewing experience. seeing as that's what the league is trying to do: enhance the viewer's experience, they would have failed in my eyes.
They need to put mics on the refs. "What's the line? Okay that means at least two more flops and a charging call. What's my take?"
I agree with JVG and I don't even think it will be interesting to see or hear. It's usually boring to hear players comment at half-time and the end of a game. I think there is a book or phrases they have to memorize for those interviews.
I oppose this notion to put mics on the coaches.. but I would like Adelman to be mic'd just once and let the fan hear what he has to say. Especially tonight when the team is losing. I bet this is what the fans would hear: Adelman: ....... ....... .... .. .. . He's a great motivational speaker. Long live Adelman.
LOL, I forgot about that episode. I guess I was subconciously thinking about it. hahaha you think, thanks for taking the time to upload that image. It's good to be sure.(^)[*.*](^)
yea lets change the ball and not let anyone know about it until tipoff. this is stupid i mean really. they should make the refs wear a mike.
This will be interesting, although the games I've watched so far don't have this 'hear the coach speak' feature. Do you have to pay for it or something?
Anyone catch this on Fox Sport NBA coach drops F bomb on live TV http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/wcStory?contentId=6534058&storyNumber=3 During a Wednesday ESPN game, a miked Jerry Sloan used a four-letter word after addressing his team at halftime. OK, it had an "ing" at the end, making it actually seven letters. What makes it such a problem is Sloan's speech wasn't live. "We apologize for the inadvertent expletive during a taped halftime segment Wednesday night during the Utah-Phoenix telecast," ESPN spokesman Mark Mandel said, reading a prepared statement. "It was said quietly, and we missed it." ESPN and NBA officials have been in communication with the Jazz. NBA spokesman Mark Broussard said it was a "mistake" in that the "approved segment ran 2 seconds too long." -- Rocky Mountain News
