Asians are known for their gambling, they could have a say in it with Lin here. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ9W1m2TKMA
All the ClutchFans who are too high on the rooks must've laid down some serious money forcing them to move the line.
The odds probably factored in the chance we land Howard. Also, there may have been a surge in Asian betting that shifted the odds temporarily. Someone paid $20,000+ for a Lin rookie card so we know Lin fans will shell out cash. The odds today are not as optimistic about the Rocket's chances which reflects recent trades and market correction.
I would say the exact opposite. I think most expected us to be at least a low seed playoff team the past few years and I definitely think people are more optimistic about this season than they probably should be.
Nice find. Vegas knows what's up so they don't mess around, they have a bunch of people being paid top dollar to determine odds like this.
The odds were made after the Howard trade or the Lakers wouldn't be No 1. They even mentioned that the Lakers started out the offseason at 8-1.
No. They can be swayed by betting patterns by poorly set odd, but they are normally independent of betting patterns.
Howard was traded on Friday, the screen cap is from Saturday and even notes what the previous odds for the Lakers were. Why would you think these are pre-trade odds?
Seems to me that they took an old set of Vegas odds and simply adjusted the Lakers. No way that can be real.
Why can't anyone see the real potential in our lineup? We got a 7 foot rookie cockier then Kobe. We got a center that's almost awesome in def, and a team player. We got a almost Melo like offensive player. We got a pg that knows/reads the game better then most vets in the league. Not to mention there's no Kobe/Melo like ego in this team so far. It may take a few games for them to adjust at the start of the season. But once they adjust to each other they will be deadlier then we actually think. Have faith and believe.
